Hiya

Well my window to be booking my disney dining ressies will be with me in under two weeks (cant wait for a double digit dance)

I was just wondering if you all could suggest your fave disney eaterys, and why you like them, as I would like to choose some different ones.

So far I am thinking of the following

Cinderellas Royal Table breakfast
Crystal Palace
Rose & Crown
1900 Park Fayre

Any suggestions, and any tips on how to get cindys?

Thanx ANNA

Hi Anna

We love Crystal Palace. Only been at dinner time so don't know about B'fast or lunch but the buffet in the evening is great and the atmosphere with the Pooh characters is lovely.

We also love Sci-fi diner at MGM. I think you either love it or hate it. We go every trip and have not been disappointed. I love the 1950's America feel being in a drive-in with old films playing. Fabuous and the foods good too.

Also love Chef Mickey for B'fast and Garden grill in Epcot, Mickey characters.

Hope this helps

Nicky . 9 weeks and counting. :hourglass

PS. How have you lost all your weight. any magic tips??

I love Ohanas and also LLT in MK but with a late sitting.

I may be in a minority, but was not that impressed with the Rose and Crown, it was only typical pub fare, so I suppose it is what it claims to be!

Nine dragons in WS at Epcot is good and beaver tails sold in Canada are also good.

We REALLY like:
1900 Park fayre
Liberty tree Tavern
Boma
Jiko
California Grill
Restaurant Marrakesh

We REALLY don't like and would avoid like the plague:
Sci Fi Dine In - food medicre at best and service truly appalling
Chef Mickey's - food ok but cavernous room which echos with the noise.

Hoping to try:
Fresh
Sweet Tomatoes
San Angel
Spoodles
Todd English's Bluezoo
Beaches and Cream

These are our opinions and will not reflect everyone else's.

Sweet Tomatoes is at the top of I-drive near wet and wild. We love it there. A real change from junk food and really good value for money.

PS. What are Beaver tails???

I really like Crystal Palace, so much to choose from and also Prime Time cafe which is really well themed. :)

Hollywood & Vine at the MGM-Studios serves delicious, extremely well prepared food. You can dine here as part of the "Fantasmic Dinner Package", which will get you VIP preferred seating for the show as well. During our trip a couple of weeks ago, there were just 3 families including oursevles in the reserved seating zone - so we had lots of room to spread out! The view is perfect too.

'Ohana feast is great and the atmosphere is very busy. Citrico's, Narcoosee's and California Grill are all excellent monorail restaurants as well.

We've never tried the Rose & Crown (never really appealed) but Chef de France and San Angel Inn are our two favourites at Epcot. We recently tried Le Cellier as well and I would rate it highly.

There are lots more....too many to mention!

Weve enjoyed

Ohana (for dinner)
Boma (for breakfast)
Hollywood and Vine (Fantasmic package)

and would recommend all the above.

Can't say that we were impressed with Beaches and Cream - we chose it based on other people's recommendations. It just didn't live up to expectations. IMHO B-Line Diner at Peabody's serves far superior burgers.

Bluezoo looks fab! Saving that for next time!

I booked Cinderella's Table for breakfast last week, after much research and angst as to how to get it!

The best advice that I can give is -
1. Start calling at about 11.57am our time.
2. You will hear a message like 'thank you for calling. our office is closed....'. As soon as you hear that, hang up and redial. Keep doing this.
3. When the office is open, you will know straight away because the message changes - it asks for you to press 2 if you are staying at the Swan or Dolphin or something - it gives this 'number 2' option first. If you're not, press 1 straight away.
4. I was advised to press 1 and then 1 again straight away to bypass the next couple of questions, but was a little bit nervous about doing this before I had heard the options, so I did listen to a little bit, and they are still 'research' questions ie 'have you been to Disney before....have you been more than 4 times' - I did indeed press 1 twice, but even if you haven't been that many times, I don't think it has any effect on your progress through the booking process, so you can just press 1 straight away.

EDIT - at some point, you are asked to input your reservation number or home telephone number. I input my home number - it must be ten digits, so drop the '0' from the dialling code. Sorry, forgot this before.

5. I was then on hold for maybe 2-3 minutes before speaking to a real live person, and asked straight away for the date and table - I waited for her to offer a time as I figured this cuts out further to-ing and fro-ing. She offered 9am and I was done!

You could try calling at a quieter time before your booking date, just to familiarise yourself with all the options, and hang up as soon as you are put on hold. I was so fired up when I called, I could have easily made a mistake!

Good luck!

Kristie uk has given you good advice. I did what she did, started calling a few minutes early and pressing redial. I also did practice runs for a few days before, just to get the feel of the system. Good luck with that.

Best restaurants from January trip:
PSB at Akerhaus, Norway (nicer food and service than CRT breakfast, and we did both)
Boma (dinner)
Ohana (dinner)
Crystal Palace (went for lunch, but good all the time)

Try and go to Earl of Sandwich if you're ever shopping at DTD, the bread is fantastic and the sandwich inside is great too!

I made my ADRs a few days ago and was asked for my room reservation number which I had to call virgin holidays to get as its not on any invoice etc, just a word of advice to get all your info up front!

Yes, I didn't say that they did ask me where we were staying - I just said I didn't know yet. There was no problem.

Plus I also forgot to say they ask for your reservation code or home telephone (I think this was part of the recorded message at the beginning). Just make sure your phone number comes out to 10 digits (ie drop the 0 from the code, so you get eg. 1234 567890).

I have edited the post above in case no-one reads this far!

Yes, the reason for this is so that when you check-in to your Disney Resort they are able to print off a guest itinerary for you, detailing all of your ADR information and numbers. :)

Ah! that solves that mystery then Frances, was wondering why when anyone staying off site can also book ADRs

Hi Anna

Our very favourite restaurants are:

Yakitori House in Epcot (counter service, delicious filling meals, reasonable prices, the Japanese beef curry is out of this world)

House of Blues in DTD (great atmosphere, attentive servers, and amazing key lime pie)

Have a great trip!
