New to the DIS, but based on all the reviews here, I just made ADRs for a trip with DBf (his graduation) for Memorial Day weekend.:goodvibes Just wondering if there's anything I missed or should get rid of!

Fri: arrive 11:30, check into CBR
5:40 Dinner at The Plaza
Spend the day in MK, maybe watch wishes

Sat: 9:40 Dinner at California Grill, hopefully be able to watch Wishes at 10pm. This is the "nice dinner" I'm taking him out for -- also thought about Nacroossees, Jiko or Artist Point -- any other suggestions? And how long will it take to get from CBR to CG?

Sun: 6:40 Dinner at Mama Melrose's. Not the Fantasmic package, but we're planning on going to the show -- probably the later one. MGM's listed as closing at 10 that day, but there's a 10:30 show. How does that work?

Mon: 1pm Lunch at Le Cellier -- no dinners at all available in the time we're there. Epcot day. Dinner at CS restaurants in WS, watch Illuminations.

The rest of the meals, I'm planning on CS -- favorites? We're not doing the DDP. We really like ethnic/exotic foods, but somehow this trip ended up all pretty standard... :confused3

TIA for your thoughts and sorry for so many questions!

consider changing Le Cellier for Marrakesh. You might still be able to get a ressie for dinner!!

We found that the food at Marrakesh was soooooo blah, no flavour whatsoever, no spices, no seasoning, it was BORING. There was a chicken appetizer that was disgusting and there was a main course (chicken) that was only chicken, no rice, no nothing. Not impressed at all and when the belly dancer is dancing and the music is on it is sooooo loud that you can't hear yourself think. I would not suggest that restaurant at all!:scared:

This ADR should be perfect. Plenty of time to get to your resort and to the MK.

If possible, can you get an earlier ADR for this? I'd hate to have you waiting to check-in or worse yet, waiting to be called from your table and missing Wishes from this restaurant. But if you catch Wishes the night before, it would be okay -- it's still the same show -- but just from a different place.

I would allow an hour travel time using the Disney transportation. You will need to take a bus from your resort to the MK and then either walk or take the monorail over to the Contemporary.

Any of the other three are good choices as well.

If you're planning on attending the second showing of Fantasmic, then you probably won't need the dining package. I've gone several times to hte second showing and was able to grab a good seat 30 minutes or less prior to show time. Most guests will go for the first showing, especially those with younger children.

Mon: 1pm Lunch at Le Cellier -- no dinners at all available in the time we're there. Epcot day. Dinner at CS restaurants in WS, watch Illuminations.

Lunch at LeCellier is, in my opinion, just as good as dinner. The menu may be a little different, but the atmosphere is the same. I've heard that even with an ADR for dinner, some guests have had to wait an hour or more for their table. Lunch is a much better option here.

The rest of the meals, I'm planning on CS -- favorites? We're not doing the DDP. We really like ethnic/exotic foods, but somehow this trip ended up all pretty standard... :confused3

We love Boma -- either for breakfast or dinner. You don't have any character meals. Even if you're two adults, character meals can be a lot of fun. We especially love Crystal Palace for breakfast -- great breakfast items, made to order omelets and lots of other great choices, plus you get to dine with Pooh and his Pals.

TIA for your thoughts and sorry for so many questions!

Have a great trip no matter what you decide.

I think your choices look great!!!
For good CS in the parks I would suggest:

MK Columbia Harbour House (great fresh tuna sandwich for a change) or Peco Bill's for the traditional Burger and Fries. It has a nice "Fixin's Bar"

EC If you like ethnic food this will be a dream for you. WS is full of ethnic fast food. Try the Tangerine Cafe in Morrocco, or the Yakatori House in Japan, Fish & Chips in the UK and traditional German sausages in Germany. There is also good CS at Mexico, but I think China is closed right now. All of these are good choices for different CS. Our favorites are the Fish & Chips and the Yakatori House in Japan.

AK Has 2 wonderful CS meals, in my opinion. I think the Tusker House is the best CS on property. Great chicken meal and a wonderful Chicken sandwich. Also the Flame Tree Barbeque is good.

MGM I really don't think anything here stands out.

DTD Both Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express get rave reviews for CS choices.

Have a great trip

Thanks for all the advice!

Hopefully: I remember loving Epcot WS when I was last there (7 years ago... WAAAAAY too long!) so I'm really excited for dinner there. Dad and sister went a few months ago, recommended Tangerine Cafe too, so we'll definitely get something from there. Don't remember any CS in the other parks so your suggestions help a lot.

Disney_freak: Only ADRs at CG were the 9:40 or a 5:40. I'll keep calling and hope something opens up, or maybe switch to Jiko or Boma for a change of pace. I really like Ethiopian food -- is the food at either of them similar? I wanted a character meal, but since DBF does not and it's his graduation, not mine, he wins... I'll just have to catch them in the parks.

mermaid&cinderella/engle: Thought about Marrakesh, but I've just read too many bad reviews and we get really good Middle Eastern food in DC -- we're going to one place the night before we leave with a friend from Egypt -- so decided to skip it.

One other question...
If we're not doing Fantasmic package, which would you choose: Mama Melrose or 50s Prime Time? Why? (food, service, atmosphere)
