Hi All, do you need an ADR for a 3mo old? If I find an ADR for a party of 4 but not for a party of 5, will they let us in knowing that our 5th is a 3mo old? Thanks so much!

Yes, you are supposed to include your infant in your adr count.

If anything I would try for 6 if you can't get a table for 5, at least that way you are more likely to have a table large enough to park the stroller if needed.

As chloelovesdisney said, you need to include your infant in the ADR party size. The party size isn't just for table sizing, it's also for of the fire code capacity. So, if you show up with five and your ADR is only for four and they're at capacity, they can tell you that only four members of your party will be admitted. So, it's better to make an ADR for the next even-sized party up (so in your case 6) because then the table will fit 5 and you won't have to worry about anyone being turned away due to the fire code.

Darn so should I cancel my ADRs or just hope we get a nice cast member? I have some hard to get ADRs and they are for 4 people not including my infant son...? I didn't even think to add him!

usually restaurants can accommodate one more on the reservation but NOT ALWAYS- if it were me and I was set on the ADR's I had I would continue to watch for a reservation of 5 to open but keep my reservation of 4 for now. Then day of go to the restaurant and explain your situation, people almost always report luck in this situation

And, even though he doesn't need much space, going from 4 to 5 changes the table size. Going from 1 to 2 or 3 to 4 is easy because the tables are already table for 2 or 4 (worked in restaurants in the past).

I'm not sure what to advise....maybe call and explain in advance and see if there is any way they will help you out :confused3 For me, I think it would be too stressful to have to wait and see at every restaurant.

I would start calling now or checking online to see which ADRs you can change. The more that you can change before you go, the better. As pointed out upthread, it's sometimes easier to find even numbered tables, so look for a party of 6 if you can't find a table for 5.

This is generally true, but a few restaurants at WDW actually have tables for three. So, a reservation for three is not always going to be sat at a four-top table. I know this is the case at Boma and 'Ohana (those are where I've been seated at a three top).

We've been seated at tables for 3 in DW restaurants. Typically they are against a wall or window.

I'm not sure if your suggestion is to call the dining reservation line or each restaurant. The OP can call the dining reservation line to see if any of her reservations can be modified for 5. If there is availability it can be done.

If you are suggesting that she call each restaurant this is not possible. Most do not have a public telephone number to call for reservation modifications because this is done through the dining res line.

To the OP: For the reservations that can't be modified when you call the dining rservation line, start checking online multiple times a day to see if a cancellation comes up. You can try for a party of 5 or 6 or even a table for 2 within a few minutes of your res for 4, then ask if the 2 reservations can be seated together when you check in at the restaurant.

If you only have a res for 4, as much as possible CMs will try to seat the extra person and most of the time it will be successful, but there's always the slight chance that the restaurant is at fire code capacity and it can't be done. We were also at a DW restaurant that was running far behind schedule and would not seat walk ups, late arrivals or extra people on a reservation.

The problem with just showing up with an extra guest is what will you do if they can't fit everyone? If you all leave you will have to pay the per person no show fee. Or one person will have to go fend for themselves.

Very true. At the restaurant I mentioned in the post above yours there were some unhappy diners who showed up late or with extra guests and didn't have a plan B in mind. :confused3
