I had 2 reservations i wanted to cancel and thought i give it away to another Diser before i call ADR's, on my Sept thread. I have had this reservations for while. Another Diser pm'ed me for this reservation and i was more than happy to call and change it to their name. It was for party of 4. When i called, the CM told me that it was for party of 3 not 4. I was :scared1: saying there no way, since there are 4 of us going. Although thank goodness, i had a different reservation for that same day, but i thought, here we go again, another mistake by a CM and for months, i was thinking it was to be party of 4. I know those CM work hard and i am sure they get stressed by heavy phone calls, esp for during free dining period, but their mistake can impact on our vacation. This is the 3rd mistake for my weekly dining reservation , that i am going in 20 days. The 1st one was the date, and the other was # of party, and now the # of party AGAIN!!!! The 2st mistake, luckily, was able to change to the right day, when the the 2nd mistake happened, i was fuming since it was for LTT, suppose to be party of 4 but CM put 3 and they couldn't change because it solid bookand, i am going to just fight my way to get in LTT that day, saying THEIR mistake, not mine!!..but that another matter.:furious: :furious:

Why don't DIsney do online reservations for WDW dining??? That way, we can see it and change it ourselves. I don't even have a paper proof other than just some confirmation # and relying on the CM that they did it right over the phone.

When DCL started the online dining for Palo's resturant and excursions, it was great!!! Sure there were few glitches, but at least you can see what available and what is not whenever you want to check in!!

I think this is getting so out of hand with all those CM mistakes. Disney can certainly make it easier for themselves to do online dining so that if a guest dispute a reservation at the resturant , at least you could show proof!!!

I am sorry for venting, and there more than to be angry about, in this world, but it just sorta puts a damper on your vacation plans and we are not even there yet but thanks for listening!! The Diser's are great!!!

Why don't DIsney do online reservations for WDW dining???

I have a that is a Disney VIP. We had a BBQ last night and i asked the very same thing and he just *winked* and said the magic is in the works and hinted it will be done before the new year.

He didnt out and out say it or mention any dates and i didnt press him on it but sounds like it would be soon.

maybe that's part of the revamping they are doing with the dining reservation system:woohoo:

That is where its going. Remember most of the dining CM's are part timers, college students, or people that dont even live in florida. The fact that you cant get an email with your reservations on it is not good and dining is a huge part of peoples vacations. Just be patient for October...

It is extremely frustrating for me because I'm dealing with ADRs that need to specify food allergies.

I end up going straight to my contact at WDW to confirm things on the allergy side and she came up with about 10 more ADRs that I thought I had. Why? B/C the CM never canceled the ADRs when I made the new ones. I always make the new ones first then do the cancellations. But here I was with almost 40 ADRs, some of which were on the same day about 10 minutes apart. Now, really, how can you have a system that allows that?

No wonder people double and triple book if they don't know where they're going to be at. That's just not being considerate to others. No Flames, please!

The other thing is that the party number isn't always correct. I understand that it's a computer system and the CM was probably 'being nice' to get me in to the restaurant I wanted when I wanted so some say 3 and some say 4. We're always seated at a table for 4. I've never seen a 3-top. But, I guess they'd already filled up their allotment of 3 people but had some for 4.

Going to on online system will be interesting if people start creating their own party size just to get a table and then show up knowing they won't/can't be turned away. For example, if a table for 6 isn't available but a table for 4 is then you take that and then just show up with 6 and let the restaurant figure it out. Doesn't really seem right but I'm sure it already happens so maybe they're just used to it. But what if there isn't a reservation for 3 but one for 6. Do I take that one and just 'fake it' and then tell them the other 3 have heat stroke and are at the hotel. Interesting dilemma.

It is important to keep on top of the ADRs. I actually call back a few days before I leave and 'double check'.

Best Wishes to all!

That will be great if it goes to online reservations. Now I am nervous about all my reservations. I want to call and make sure they are all correct and for the correct amount of people.

I may be the one person that does not think making ADRs online will be the greatest thing. While I would love some kind of e-mail notification after I make ADRs, I'm sure there will be plenty of people taking advantadge of the new system. Hopefully it won't be a problem, but I see a lot of double bookings and stuff happening.

No, you're NOT the only person who thinks that! If people think there are problems with dining reservations made by Cast Members (who, while not necessarily at Disney or even ever having eaten/been there, ARE taking/making reservations as their job), I can't imagine what it's going to be like when we get to do it ourselves.

I see both sides of this, but at the very least, I think we should be receiving email confirmations, just to make sure the cm got it right. :thumbsup2

Though the online reservation system will have benefits for me there are lots of families and WDW visitors that don't use the online world like us DISSERs. WDW needs to allow both systems to remain in place and be fair to all. Even with that system in place, we'll still find something to complain about. If not these boards would get pretty quiet.

An online system will be great for people who have simple dining reservations. Yes, that will cut down on the number of calls needed to set up the "normal" reservations. But someone mentioned having to book for allergies. How is that going to be handled online? I don't see how it can so that person will still need to call. It was also mentioned about people "playing around" with the system and I can see that happening as well. I also can see that people will be less inclined to cancel their reservations unless a credit card guarantee is put into place. Which I'm sure it will.

People are seeing benefits of an online system. But think about the next time you want to make a reservation. You will probably have to put a credit card number down and if you do not show up for that reservation, your card will be charged. Just like hotel rooms operate now. Someone who makes dozens of of changes to their reservations will have to keep very good track of that and make the cancellations they aren't going to use.

And if your 180 day window (or whatever it will be) comes up and you cannot get to a computer, you will still have to call.

That is annoying...even if you had gotten to the podium and said ressie for four...they would have to give you a table that fits 4 right??? I mean I have never seen a table that is triangle shaped LOL or a table that seats four but only 3 chairs.

Just an FYI!!!!!!!!!!! The new dining system has been pushed back another month!!!

For those of you with complaints, every reservation you make has the name of the agent that made it in the record!! PLEASE call and make yourself heard if you have a complaint!!!! OR email guesst service with your reservation # and they can pull up the information. Things will not get better if they don't know about them!!!

Oh, just an FYI...for those coming after 25Jan but before 22Feb, on te 31st you will be able to make your reservations!!!!

OP, when you get to WDW, have your resort print out your ADR's. That way in writing you have the proof that all of your other dining reservations are for four and why would this one be only for three? Take that with you to LTT. Start out just saying your name and then when they ask the party number, tell them "four". Chances are it will be fine, as Lynn5700 said, there aren't really tables for three anyway. But if they make a stink, whip out that piece of paper and show them the proof that you made your ADR's with 4, and someone at Disney Dining made a mistake.

I had this happen a few years back, we were a party of seven that trip and several of the ADR's were for six. It was never a problem, we got into each place just fine. Only once did they say I was the wrong party size and when I showed them my paper, they just rolled their eyes and made some comment about how this happens all the time.

If you aren't staying onsite, I believe you can still get a print out of your ADR's with any resort concierge or guest services at the parks.

we are staying concierge 3 nights of an 11 night trip in Dec with the concierge being the last 3 nights of our stay, and they emailed me my ADRs and itinerary for the entire 11 nights without my even asking:thumbsup2

we called last nite to swap 2 adrs

we had standard dining plan and a few weeks ago upgraded to delux thanks to a pin:cool1:
when we upgraded we changed around all our adrs made breakfasts early so we can space out the meals we told that cm to cancel the old adrs after we made new ones and gave her the #s

so last nite we swap a france and japan same adrs just reversed the days
so after we go to cancel the old adrs so we have no duplicates

the guy gets all snippy says you know you have doubble bookings on most of
your days we said we told the other cm to cancel all of those he said he would do it now so we get to our last day

we have 2 lunch adrs 3 hours apart for plaza and kona we are undecided but there far enuff apart there not doubble booked and we can eat as many meals as we want in a day anyway none of his buisness

he goes on to say we have to pick 1 to cancel or he will delete them both
i told him dont touch it and he said we had 24 hours or the both go
thank you for calling disney and goodbye and hangs up

wow i was floored what a jerk we called right back asked for a manager
told the story manager said sorry that this guy is new and he thinks hes doing things the way disney wants not what good for guests
i forgot to say the guy accused us of hiding our other duplicate adrs
and when i said we told the other cm to cancel them he said i wasnt on that call so i dont know well i told the manger to check every one of my adrs
to make shure this jerk didnt cancel the wrong ones and he left my last day 2 adrs alone and noted the file he was verry nice

just realy rubed me the wrong way both this jerk and the fact that all my old adrs were never released wich hurts other disers and leaves me open to have both cancled leaving me with no adrs!!!

owell hope it works out

I agree that some changes need to be made to the ADR system...it's much too easy for the system to double book (or triple or whatever) for guests. Really something should kick in at some point to say you possibly can't be at two different locations so close to each other-one of them's got to go. If you can't get ahold of the person (by phone/email/whatever), maybe they both go or whatever is most recently booked. :confused3

As for "manipultaing" your numbers and saying you've got more than what you have to get the table, you'll be charged for those "missing" people per the CMs I've spoken with and what I've read here on the Dis.

In regards to the "tables for three" there's a thread here that says they in fact do exist-they're pushed against a wall or window to fit the most people possible in one spot.

I'm also staying CL for our Dec trip and have my ADRs emailed to me. It's a HUGE help having them all there in front of me. Another thing that amazes me is that they're able to magically add pretty much (within reason) whatever crazy requests that I make. I moved our trip around date-wise and was still able to get every ADR I had in my original list except one (LTT on a MVMCP night) including CRT. :confused3 Although I'm thankful, it should really be that easy for everyone right?? I guess that's why the room's 8 times higher than a "regular" room.

Sorry everyone's having ADR problems...I'm calling tonight (again) to try and add my DMIL to our ressies. Every CM and restraunt I've spoken to said it would be fine to just show up with an additional person. I'm not too kean on just showing up with an "extra" person (going from 4 to 5) with two small kids.
