ADRs but no dinning plan yet?

I am booking my 180 out ADRs this week and all I have is a room revervation. I can't book a package yet because as you all know, the rates aren't out yet.

My question is, I noticed that they ask me if I have a meal plan and I say no. Does it matter that I will later when the rates come out? Will I need to call and amend those ADRs to ones with a dinning plan or will it matter?

Also, why do they ask?

My 180 window is fast approaching too. We talked about if we will use the ddp in 2008 and are still waiting to see. We will make our ADRs and just tell the CM we don't know if we'll be using the ddp. We have said this before because we are DVC members and don't have to add the DDP until a few days before we arrive. If the new 2008 ddp is too much or the changes not acceptable to us, we will just modify our ADRs. We are DDE card holders also, so know we'll be dining at several TS locations. We'll be at the AKV Jan. 27-Feb. 2, so at least have our room reservations.

It doesn't matter whether you are on the DDP or not when making ADRs. I don't know why they ask. You can have your ADRs linked to your phone number, not your reservation number, so you can even cancel your on-site reservation and stay off-site and your ADRs will not be cancelled.

Just tell them you are planning on booking it when you are able, but are unable to at this time.
You will not have to change anything later, though you do have the option of updating your info to indicate the DDP later.
I think they only ask so if you don't have it they can suggest it.
