ADRs and Tours

As a DVC Member, any advantage to booking these through Member Services as opposed to the regular "old" fashioned way?

Not sure who I'm supposed to call to book ADRs.

Not sure that MS even does ADR or tour reservations. For our trip this past Christmas we had to call the regular Disney number for ADR,s. Be prepared to be flexible. Getting ADR's can be a pain if you don't get the right CM. When I started calling at 180 days as instructed I was told on every option " No sir everything is booked". When my wife called a full month or so latter, everything that I had requested was suddenly available. If you don't get what you like as others have said, hang up and call again til you get the answer you like.
 
I call the regular dining line. I don't even know if MS CMs actually book dining anymore, or if you are just transferred to regular dining.

I found I did better when I called MS and made my ADR's (did this for Dec 07 trip, called in Sep & Nov,Dec). Maybe I just got lucky, but the CM's I had that way actually seemed to understand "why" I wanted what I wanted. Also nice that you're calling an 800# if you're going to be making a lot of adr's.

I guess another case of MS differing in what they can and can't do. When I hit a wall last year trying to get ADRs I called MS and was told they can't book ADRs or other packages like the Candlelight Processional. Good thing my wife apparently has a better phone voice, she was able to book everything I was told were full.
 
When I called MS and booked my room, the CM asked if there was anything else, I told her that I needed to make ADR's and asked if she could transfer me to whoever did that. She told me that she could make the adr's for me. I spent over an hour on the phone with that one CM, making/fixing room ressies & adrs. I also ordered my discounted MVMCP tickets from her and booked my CLP package.

Late Nov/Dec when I needed to make a few changes, I called MS and chose the Dining option and got everything I needed taken care of.

I hope you kept the CM name for future transactions as him/her seemed to have the right answers or probably more importantly the right attitude.
