I need help. :confused3 I am planning a surprise trip for dh so I don't want to use the charge cards. However to make some of the ADR's you need a card. Also to get tickets to MVMCP you need a card. The cm's suggest a disney gift card or a prepaid charge card. What would you suggest? Any idea is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

are you on the dining plan? if you are they don't charge the card they just use it in case you are a no show, for the other tickets a gift card would work or could you have a relative purchase them for you so your DH wont know.

we are on DxDDP and I had to give my cc but they only used it for the file and would not charge the credit card unless we are a no show. I had to leave cc from Akershus and CRT but I asked the CM if they will charge the account she said no.

If you are booking a meal that requires an actual deposit, the Cast Member outlined your two best options. Otherwise, you can use your actual credit card because nothing will appear on your statement unless you do not honor your reservation.

My girlfriends CC was charged already for an Oct reservation at CRT. We were both surprised, because i told her it would not go on her card until they ate there. She is bringing a copy of her CC statement to prove it was already charged, so she does not run into any trouble when she gets there

If I remember correctly, CRT does say that you will be charged up front during the online ADR process. If you retrieve the reservation online, it will show the amount paid, and that a $0.00 balance is due. She should have also received an email confirmation after making the ADR.

All others that need a card up front should show a $0.00 charge when you make the ADR on the website. The card will only be charged if you do not show up for the meal.

I booked all our ADRs using a Vanilla Mastercard. There was a $1.05 charge on the card that disappeared after a few days (card verification) - since we're from Canada, it would usually be just $1 for everyone else I think :D And since it uses anonymous security, it doesn't even matter what address you give when you make your reservation :D:woohoo:

Remember I'm in Canada.

I don't HAVE a credit card. I refuse :D I work in IT and see/read all the horrible things people go through with that stupid piece of plastic. It is crazy!!

I'm a cash girl.

Our lowest amount is $25 - it is the same as a gift card, but you pay an $8 activation fee and after a certain amount of time (3 months?) Mastercard charges you $8.95 per month. The highest amount I can buy is $100.

Exactly the same as a credit card, not reloadable, and super convenient. I use them every few months for my daughter's Warcraft account fees, and now Disney ADRs. Since they don't charge them unless you noshow, just make sure you show! :D I also used a series of them once to buy a cheap Westjet flight :D
