Hi,
We arrive on 12/12 for a quick three night trip. Our flight gets in at 8:00am on the 12th. We plan on taking MDE to our hotel and then going to MK. We have lunch at BOG at 2:15 and then are planning to head back to the hotel to check in and rest for a bit. I currently have a 7:30 ADR at Rose and Crown, mostly so we'd have a spot to view Illuminations at 9:30. I'm wondering if I should keep the ADR for Rose and Crown or cancel it and just grab QS somewhere. I wanted a place to watch Illuminations, but now I'm thinking we might be better not having a reservation somewhere and being held to a time. I'm just wondering what everyone else thinks?

We have almost the exact same trip!

With the timing of what you noted you really won't end up with that much time to rest. It will be a quick freshen up and then on to Epcot. So if you don't mind that, than I would keep it. Personally that feels too rushed and is just grab QS somewhere and give yourself more time.

I agree it sounds too rushed after all your traveling. I know I wouldn't be hungry for a big dinner after a late lunch. Ditch Rose and Crown, get some more rest in after BOG, then head over to Epcot for a snack. You don't need Rose and Crown to get a good viewing spot for Illuminations.

Thanks for validating my concerns. We decided to take this trip just a couple of months ago, so I think I was just excited and not really thinking about the logistics. I'm going to cancel Rose and Crown now.

Good call on cancelling R&C. You won't be hungry after a 2pm BOG, and in our experience, using R&C just for Illumination viewing isn't worth it. If you get seated at a table with an obstructed view, you'll have to stand in the viewing area anyhow. We'd rather eat where we want and then just grab a spot somewhere along the water.

I would do the opposite and cancel BOG. I like a sit down meal for dinner, and while I would not use R & C as a viewing opportunity for Illuminations, I do like it for dinner. I think I would hit the MK and eat whe i was hungry rather than wait for CS that late in the afternoon. My family would be ready to eat their shoes if we had that late of a lunch planned on a travel day! LOL!
