I am planning a trip with a friend in May, party of 2. I have been very frustrated with the ADR times that are available to me and surprised because I keep hearing others talking about getting all the ADR's they wanted for the same time frame.

This morning I was checking again to see if anything had opened up at better times and decided to play with our party size. Sure enough, when I change to a group of 4, I can get the earlier Ohana and Whispering Canyon ADR's that I want as well as the later Rose & Crown ADR we were hoping for.

Does anyone know what would happen if I booked for a group of 4, then only 2 of us showed up? Will they do their best to honor our ADR (giving us the 4 top) or would they make us wait it out for a 2 top (as if we were a walk-up)?

I understand they want to pack as many people in as possible but this seems extremely unfair to those of us with smaller groups!

One thing that was suggested in the past was to do 3 and say "oops someone didn't show up" and they would give you the 4. Never done this myself but if you search the past threads I know it is there.

Hope this helps a bit. :)

yes...but 3 and 4 would most likely sit at the same size table. 2 and 4 would not. I don't think they'll give you a table for 4 if you have 2 people. They'll wait for a table for 2 to open up.

That might work at some of the restaurants where they actually have tables that seat 3 but I am not sure it would work if they have only 2 tops and 4 tops.
