ADR System Upgrade - History

I think I am losing it but I looked at the 3/20 update at the top of the page and there is no link for the online reservations??

You won't find a link or news on the sticky at this point because there is no current news, and there is no link. Online dining reservations have not been implemented and there's no indication from Disney as to when or if they will be implemented. But the sticky will be the first place to look for news when it does come.

I am relatively new at this, so please bear with me...We will be at WDW for 1 week (July 26-Aug 2). Accoring to my calculations my 90 day window begins 4/27. On that day can I request ALL my ADR for the week, or do I need to call for each day? Maria

If you are staying at a Disney resort, yes, you can call once and make all your ADRs (subject to availability - some harder ones if you are unable to get them call back at 90 days).

Thanks! We are not staying at a Disney Resort, from your reply I'm guessing I will need to call each day...this will be interesting!

Yes, unfortunately. The 90+10 benefit only applies to DR guests.

You don't HAVE to call each day...you can wait a few days and then make ADRs for the days that have passed the 90 day mark - but the odds of getting the locations and times you want drop... :)

When I called on April 15 to make my ADR's the CM repeatedly said that she would be placing my reservations in my Shopping Cart and would give me all of my ADR numbers at the end of the call.

I also made several reservations that needed to be guaranteed with a credit card. In the past, every guaranteed reservation needed to have the credit card information added separately. This time she again stated that all of the guaranteed reservations would be placed in my Shopping Cart and she would enter the credit card information one time at the end of the call.

The Shopping Cart made the process move more quickly as the credit card info was entered just once and then all of the ADR numbers were read back at a one time.

I can't imagine why Disney would have created a system with Shopping Carts just for internal use, so I am hopeful that this is the first roll out of an online system that will eventually be accessible to the public.

I was cruising the official Walt Disney World website and found a couple of interesting things...If you click on the "Plan" tab across the upper portion of the home page, then click on the In Depth Planning Topics, then scroll down to Where to Eat, then click on details, then scroll down to the middle of the page to Plan Ahead With Advance Dining Reservations, there is a line that says Book Now or phone 407 WDW-DINE. The "Book Now" is blue highlighted as a link. When you click it, it just pops you over to the regular Dining page...but maybe that will one day be the link to book online? This page is located at
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/planning-guides/in-depth-advice/where-to-eat/

Another clue, when you get through to that main Dining page, scroll towards the lower part of the page and click on Dining Events (with the picture of Mickey from Fantasmic!) Once you're on the Dining Events page, scroll down to the Fantasmic! Dinner package area and click on see details. On the Fantasmic Dinner page, just about 1/2 down the page is the list of the three restaurants, and just under that says "Book online or make reservations by calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 up to 90 days in advance." This page is located at

So maybe the preliminary work has been done to set up for on-line dining reservations...hope so.

I've got the preliminary list of DDP restaurants. Is there a definitive one please? I was looking at the Portobello at Downtown Disney but it doesn't seem to be on the list. On the official website it says it's signature dining so presumably 2 TS per person?

Not too sure, but I may have gotten one step further than you!! When I clicked on the "Book Now" link, it took me to a search page where you type in the name of the restaurant you want to book. I typed in Whispering Canyon Cafe, and it brought me to the restaurant's home page where it listed details about the place and included menus as well. Under the "Reservation" section, it listed the telephone number - but if it's gotten this far, then I'm sure we'll see a link there pretty soon!!!

Oh....I so hope on line booking is coming soon!!!!

Just in case anyone is interested I've just made my July ADR's for a split stay but only allowed to do first week and got all I wanted within 25 minutes of my original request time and the call only took 25 minutes. Very happy now.

We have
Boma dinner 6.25
Donalds Safari Breakfast 8am
Chef Mickeys 6.20pm
Hollywood and Vine 5pm
Boma breakfast 9.05am
Tusker House dinner 5.40pm

Having a special needs child who is very fussy I'm glad we got what we needed as much as wanted, we've been to most of them before and know he's OK with them.

Portobello at DTD is not on the regular or Deluxe DDP -- they're calling it "signature dining" to distinguish it as a fancier restaurant. I believe the only way you can get it on a dining plan is if you have purchased the Platinum Plan. This is the official list of DTD restaurants accepting the DDP:

Downtown Disney® Area
Cookes of Dublin (L,D)
Earl of Sandwich (B,L,D)
FoodQuest (L,D)
Wolfgang Puck® Express (L,D)
Cap’n Jack’s Restaurant (L,D)
Planet Hollywood® (L,D)
Raglan RoadTM Irish Pub and Restaurant (L,D)
Wolfgang Puck® Cafe (L,D)

here's the link to the Official brochure, page 4 & 5 of the PDF show the full list of all the restaurants you can use the DDP:

Strange, and I called Sunday for a split stay and was allowed to make ALL of my ADRs for both reservations based on my first checkin. I thought for sure I would not be allowed, but it was never an issue and the CM didn't have any problem doing all of them based on my one night arrival at the AKV. I did wonder if it was because I am DVC and staying on a DVC reservation vs a regular reservation. I was glad not to have to make 2 phone calls and I got everything I wanted at nearly the exact times. And you know I still called back the next day because we decided to move some things around and still no problem. My hold time was about 2 minutes both times.

Great news Wendy :)

It must be getting close...

This is on the Dining FAQ page right now!

Are reservations available at Walt Disney World Resort restaurants?

Yes, reservations are available-and highly recommended-at many Walt Disney World Resort restaurants. You may make reservations online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463. Guests under age 18 must have parent or guardian permission to call. It is recommended that you arrive at restaurants 5 minutes prior to your seating time. You will be seated at the next available table that can accommodate your party.

Right now, the "make reservations online" is a link that just reroutes back to the same page you're already on. But that must mean it's on its way soon, right?
