ADR System Upgrade - History

It has to do with Disney's policy (which has always been) +10 for resort guests.

Disney has always 'held' tables to release at exactly 180 (now 90) days before dining dates, in an effort to be fair to everyone.

Their official (internal) policy is...

Q - What is the booking window for Guests with future resort reservations at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel?

A - Effective December 23, 2008, the timeframe for booking dining, recreation and tours experiences will transition to a 90-day window and add an extra 10-days to the booking window to accommodate for future resort reservations with arrival dates at the 90-day mark.

Nevermind! Totally just what Tricia said

i called today for 3/23 like it says on page 1. the CM said they're only doing til 3/22 except for CM CRT etc. Then she said they're doing 90 days out for the rest. So i almost hung up with her but then i asked if she could tell me when the 90 day mark would be for 3/23 and then she says oh that is today. let me see if i can make a reservation for you. so i ended up getting the two places i wanted for the exact time i requested which was great. now i just have to wait until friday to make the rest of my adr's. yay!:thumbsup2

good to know! thanks!
i think the DIS dining page needs to update their DINING CALCULATOR to say the 180 (now 90) days is from CHECK IN, not DINING DATE. it does make a difference at the more popular places.

As it stands right now that is true. Unless you are looking for Cinderella's Royal Table, Chef Mickey, or Victoria & Albert's. Those three can be made at 180 days throughout the update process.
:)

They aren't letting you make these, actually. I called yesterday to get a different Chef Mickeys for June 20-- (we arrive June 15, and already made one but we made it for DINNER not breakfast and wanted to change to a breakfast one)--they now say that you cannot make Chef Mickeys more than 90 days out either. ??? I called x3 and was told the same thing by 3 different CMs yesterday. "No more 180 days out at all, effective today" (yesterday), I also tried the route of "not a new ADR, i just want to change the time" and all three said it can't be done, the system is 'locked out' over 90 days. No mention of the plus 10 for resort guests either.

I just called the Dining number and was told that I need to wait until 90 days out before I can make my ADRs for the May trip. Previously, they had been telling me to call back in late December.

If the date changes, and the upgrade finishes sooner, there will be updates on the board. :)

Tricia1972's post that you quoted is from October 13 of this year. As of yesterday, December 23, Disney officially changed its policy to be able to book at any restaurant only 90 days in advance (or 90 + 10 if you're staying on site). In essence, Tricia1972's post is no longer correct, but it was at the time she posted it. Check the first post in this thread for the most up-to-date information.

Merry Christmas everyone!

I called today. They told me that I could make reservations for Chef Mickeys, Victoria and Alberts or Cinderella's Castle. So I am not sure why they won't let you change the time??? Odd.

BTW I'm arriving June 6th. So I am between the 90 day and 180 day marks, closer to the 180...

As of now, according to what CMs who have access to The Hub (Disney's intraweb), changes cannot be made to existing reservations outside the 90-day window until you reach the 90-day window. They won't be canceled, but you'll have to wait until 90 days from check-in (or 90 + 10 if you're staying on site) to make any changes.

Princess Storybook Dining is now open! I just booked for 3/23 but they took my credit card info. Is that normal or new???

well crap, go figure i know that would happen, i was gone all day with out my stuff at family stuff till 8:30 didn't get it made, hopefully not many other's did either. LOL I'll be calling tomorrow, Christmas day just for sticken ADR... oh my. hopefully we'll get in there!!!

Please forgive me if this has been asked before...does the 90 days apply by the day you arrive, or the day of the dinner. If I'm arriving, for instance, on May 14th for the week. Do I need to call Feb 14, Feb 15th, Feb 16th, etc for reservations that week? Or can I reserve all dining by my arrival date. I'm not sure if Im being very clear abou this! :confused3

you can make reservations for May 14th-May 24th (arrival date plus 10 days beyond it) on February 14th.

OOOOHHHHH.....I just read the thread and I am close to tears :sad1: :sad1:
That just seems so close to me!!!!! I have always (10+ trips) had all my ressies for all my dining done at 180 days!!
THATS AN EXTRA 3 MONTHS THAT I HAVE TO WAIT

Our six month mark for our July trip is January 2nd...Can I call to make all of our reservations? Or is the March date still in effect?

I have plans to go to Chef Mickey...I think we can make that ADR no matter what...right?

Sorry if this question has been answered before...I have been a bit out of touch lately.

Not according to the new update on Allears. It says effective immediately all dining, recreation & tour reservations can be made at 90 days out. Only listed exceptions are Grand Gatherings & LaNouba at 180 days.

Or the update in the first post...;) :teeth:

On Sunday, 12/20, I made group dining ressies for Chef Mickey's on June 6.

Should I feel lucky, or could I do the same today?

I think it's a good idea to drop down to 90 days. I think it would be good if they went to 60.
