I'm a bit lost and confused.

We are working on planning a Jan trip but there's one hang up with my husbands PTO - if it by some chance it changes we'll have to cancel the trip and he won't find out until a few months from now - like Oct. I don't want to book the full package with DDP until we know for sure, but can I still make my ADR's including activity ADR's (wonderland teaparty)? And if I cancel with a couple of months advance notice will there be a fee?

I just don't know if I should book the ADR's or wait until I book the package.

Thanks!

Yes, you can still call and make ADR's. Remember that some people live in Florida, and others stay off-site. Disney doesn't care where you're staying in order for you to book a dining reservation. You won't be able to book at the "180+10" day mark unless you have a resort reservation confirmation number, but anyone can book and use their phone number as the number associated with the reservation. There's no fee to cancel, either -- just call and cancel if you find you can't make it when you thought you were going to.

I know some places, like Cinderella's Royal Table, require a credit card number to secure the reservation, but I don't know what happens if you cancel it. I never did that one, but had to leave a CC number with Victoria and Albert's, but we showed up so I don't know if we would have had to pay a fee if we missed it. But you can ask when you book. If they require a CC number, they will tell you. I say book the things you know you'd like to do because things can book up fast. If your plans change, just cancel. Good luck! :goodvibes

Go ahead and make the ADR's. Only certain more popular places require a credit card hold. For example, Cinderella's Royal Table, California Grill, the dinner shows, packages like the fantasmic dinner package, etc. require that you put a credit card hold, but you can cancel up to 48 hours in advance and not get charged at all. You ony get charged if you don't cancel and don't show. They will explain this to you when you call and make the ADR's.
Wonderland Tea party does require a credit card hold and you'll be charged the total price the day before unless you cancel.

Most of the other ones don't require any hold at all and you won't get charged but you should still cancel them so that another family can get the table.
