We are a family of 4, & often we will be dining with our best friends also a family of 4. So we made many ressies for 8, no problem. But we might split up & not end up dining together on some nights. We asked when booking if this would be a problem? And the CM on the phone said that the person who's name the ressie is in must be present, so I asked even if we have the ressie #. She again stated that the family name in which the ressie is booked must be present but it is ok if the # changes. So on our 1'st night we have a table for 8 at Boma, in our buddies name & they are pretty certain that they won't be joining us. Therefore we must change the name on the ressie to ours. Has anyone delt with this? It seems to me if we have the # then they should honor the ressie. Anyone?

So you are asking how various group ressies (party 8, all under your friends name) can be split up should you choose not to dine together?

Like the CM said the person who's name is on the ressie must be present at the podium. However, I have never had a CM check my ID at the podium but when it comes time to present the server the KTTW card, I am not sure. Not only is your issue a name change but its also a major party size change down to 4. The restaurant has already accommodated your table/party size at 8. I am assuming the DD CM wants you to cancel the Boma ressie and remake a new one? :worried:

If I were in your situation this is what I would do:

Figure out for sure what nights you are eating together. Guessing will cause you A LOT of headache. :headache: Another piece of advice, you can only double book ressies in the same meal period IF there are different names listed under same resort/phone number. For allowable example:

Phone # 123-4567
Bob Brown; Sep 22, Party 4, Le Cellier 7 pm Reservation#123
Mary Smith; Sep 22, Party 4, Chefs De France 8 pm Dinner Reservation#234

You could either;

Keep calling DD to see if something opens for your party size and create a new ressie under your name.
OR
Keep what you have and wait til you get to DW. Once there have your buddy call guest services to have them change the ressie to your name/size. Boma does not require a CC canc period so you should be ok.:thumbsup2

Hope this helps~

Changing from 4 to 8 is going to change your ADR #, so why not give them you name then when you call with the change. Your family will have your own DDP card, are all 4 of you in the same room, if the 4 of you are in 2 different rooms you would have to take 2 cards to the restaurant. I don't know why name would matter when you go to check in at the restaurant you would say we have reservations for (so and so) just use your friends name for say 5 o'clock for 4 people. We always took the ADR # with us but never need it our name was on the computer.
