ADR Hold Times - 2/23/2009 - Chat and Vent Here!!

Finally got through to the actual dining line again and pressed "one" to make a reservation from May 26 - June 2. Been on hold 14 minutes now.

I called around noon on Monday and only got to hear one line from " A Pirates Life for Me" Now the wait when I called to make our package reservations...that's a whole other thing :furious:

Now I'm discouraged to even try to make ADR's on Wednesday morning. I don't have a lot of time since I'll have to make them from work. Should I wait until later in the day to make the reservations? The only ones I'm even remotely concerned about are Chef Mickey's and The Coral Reef. The others I highly doubt will be booked. Should I just wait until around 3 or 4 Central time to make the ADRs?

You can make Chef Mickey's right now, so you can just call in at your convenience between now and Wednesday. (Chef Mickey's is available through June 19 right now - as are CRT and V&A)

This sounds very frustrating! So not looking foward to doing this.

It does sound frustrating, but I think you'll be fine when you call. The problem right now is that so few are trained on the new system and are booking reservations in the new system.

It seems that anyone doing anything prior to May 25, 2009 is fine, the probelm is for those booking after that time - because they're on the new system.

Once everyone is trained on the new system I think things will be much improved. :thumbsup2

I finally hung up with Dining when realizing I can book through DVC. I called and someone picked up right away but he is having major problems with this new system. At least I finally have a living, breathing person on the phone, but the question now is, will I get my ADRs?

Oh that's awesome! I'll call this afternoon. All of my reservations are for after May 24th. They all start May 26 until June 2nd. At least I don't have to be divided. I only have to wait once. Thanks for the help!

OK, this is crazy. First, I wanted OHana for May 24 ... the earliest I got was 8:50p. Then I called to see about getting an ADR on May 26 ... nothing available. So, we also have an ADR now on May 27.

I'll call and cancel one once I find out what our party wants to do, but seriously, where have the days gone when I could get any ADR I wanted 90 days out? I've gone to WDW three Memorial Day weeks in the past six years and have never had a problem getting ADRs. And I thought park attendance was projected to be down this year!

It seems the wait is with the new system and reservations after May 26th. I called yesterday and for the first part of our trip (prior to the 26th) I was on hold for about 10 minutes. After I made those reservations, the agent said she would have to transfer me to another agent to make the reservations for after the 26th. I was then on hold for 2.5 hours - but I got the reservations!

I called right at opering (7 est) was able to quickly make reservations for May 24th and 25th, but was then transferred and on hold for 1 hour and 40 minutes for reservations for May 26-May 31. My sisters were on hold for two hours each and never got through - I ended up making all of their reservations. Le Cellier unavailable for any dinners until May 31. We leave early that day. Frustrating!

Managed to get everything I wanted!:cool1: It took around an hour and a half with the waiting and also getting the ressies. Not too bad considering the waits some people have been having!:scared1:

Managed to get Donalds Safari Breakfast and the Turf Club at SSR for the 24th May, Tutto Italia 25th May, Mama Melrose FDP on 26th May and Le Cellier dinner on 29th May. I had to swap that with my Tutto day which was fine. I wanted anytime between 4 and 6 and got 4.25pm.:thumbsup2 I also got Chef Mickey for dinner 27th May a few days ago.

So all set, just got to add the DDP with MS now.:thumbsup2

My wait was less than 10 minutes this afternoon. I have a longer wait for DVC reservations.

The first time I called, I got a recording saying all circuits were busy. I called back in five minutes and was only on hold for about 3 minutes. I called a second time for one more ADR and was only on hold about a minute.

I made my adr's about 2wks ago, didn't have to hold got straight through to someone and managed to get all my adr's apart from one.

30 min. hanging on hold to book a restaurant for Friday 5/29. Spent the time looking at condos for sale in Kissimmee (within 10 minutes of Disney:thumbsup2...boy is there a lot of them!)

But now I have all my restaurants booked, for a party of 4. The only one we missed out on was San Angel Inn, but that's because it's closed while we're there.

We got Rose & Crown, 1900 Park Fare, Yak & Yeti, Le Chefs de France, Le Cellier, Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package, and The Wave...all within 20 minutes of our preferred times & on the nights we wanted.

So...sigh of relief, now time to get back to "real life" and clean house!

Are all the ones who are having to wait long amounts of time waiting to make ADRs after May 26th? All of my reservations have are for May 26-June 2. This has me a little nervous.

The CM at DVC told me they are moving to a new "system" and it is "very different." Seems most CMs are learning it as they go, hence the reason for the long wait times. The CM I was talking to had me on hold for a bit to check for one ADR for my party ... took about 10 minutes total!

Hopefully, by Wednesday, they'll know a little bit more and it will be more smooth sailing. I'd love to book online. Maybe next trip.

My ADR day is Saturday. I am nervous about this also!! Supposed to be leaving town for the weekend. Sure would hate to spend most of the day on hold. It sounds like today has been better than Sunday was. Maybe give it a few more days and it will get better. I trust that Disney is going to have a plan of action to get this rolling smoothly ASAP!
