Okay, first of all I have to say I hope this isn't too confusing and I'm sorry it's so long to explain...but, I am about to pull out my hair trying to figure out what to do. Please help.

The problem is I have one day only to see Spectro and Wishes at MK, due to Disney's schedule and ours, Saturday the 22nd. We are doing MNSSHP the day prior so this is going to be a sleep in and hit the parks late day for us. Depending on how we feel, we will either go to the MK in the afternoon, head for dinner around 5pm, and then back to the MK for Spectro and Wishes or hang out around the pool until dinner at 5 and then to MK.

Well, I had hoped to do WCC that evening for dinner (it's the last on our list of must do's) but the only opening for that night was after 8:30. I booked the last ressie of the night there at 9:40, but can we make it to WCC from the MK after watching Wishes at 9pm? Is that really possible? We wouldn't mind eating so late, althought it's just not preferable b/c we would have to worry about making it their on time and we are planning an early morning on Sunday. So, should I just choose another restaurant for that night and if so, which one? Here is what I already have booked for this trip...

Crystal Palace
Boma
Coral Reef
CRT breakfast
Spirit of Aloha
50's PrimeTime
Le Cellier
Biergarten
O'hanas Breakfast (my DD loves Lilo & Stitch so this is a must)
WCC - can be done on another night if needed

Here is what I am considering for our pre Spectro/Wishes night...

Chef Mickey's- convenient, but I am really not interested in another character buffet meal

O'hanas - convenient and great reviews but we are already going there for breakfast and to the SOA show

Kona Cafe - convenient and good reviews but again we are already doing several Poly dining experiences and would prefer variety

Cape May Cafe Clambake - heard good things but not terribly convenient if we head to the MK earlier in the day

Big River Grill & Brew Pub - my DH is a craft beer efficianado, but not convenient and mixed reviews

What should we do? Any other suggestions (except LTT-not interested at all in food choice)? Maybe we should just show up around 4:45 at WCC and do walk in? By the time we are seated it would be the dinner menu right?

TIA for your help and for reading all of this,
Melanie

i think you would really be pushing it to make it to the restaurant in time. i would recommend doing WCC on another night. instead of chef mickey how about the concourse steakhouse there at the contemp? that might be an option. good luck and have a great trip!

There is probably no way you could make it to WCC at 9:40. Even if you saw the parade right where it starts. It can take awhile to get over to the WL via boat or a bus, even if you walk up and happen to get on one right away. So I would definitely do that one another night. And I would not chance going to WCC as a walk up. Its just too dicey and if you get turned away you have nothing planned and a possible waste of a ts credit.

You have a couple of other options in the MK. You could go to Tony's at the MK. I know a lot of people don't like it but a lot of people do! We had a very good meal there in December. I was like you, trying to fit a meal into an MK night (MVMVP in this case) and it worked so I took a gamble. And had a terrific meal that was very convenient. My kids loved the Lady and the Tramp theming. There is also the Plaza in the MK. One ts credit. However, a lot of people don't think of that as being a good deal on the DDP since its mostly sandwiches. However, sometimes you need a convenient place to eat more than a good deal!

You could also go to Concourse as someone else suggested or try one of the restaurants at the Grand Floridian. You are doing CRT and don't want a character buffet so 1900 Park Fare is out, but there is the Grand Floridian Cafe which is one ts credit and a monorail ride away from the MK.

There are also the restaurants in DTD. You could eat there, then take a bus to one of the monorail resorts and then get to the MK pretty easily. Or for that matter walk from the Contemporary.

I feel your pain, its always tough to work a MK/Spectro/Wishes night during the Halloween timeframe! I am faced with the same dilemma for our late October trip! Good luck, I hope you get it worked out!

I think it would be hard to get to the WCC on time after Wishes. Those boats fill up awfully quick, and I wouldn't think you'd want to leave Wishes early. The walk-in plan might work ... I don't know how crowded it gets in September.

The Kona Cafe is great, but I understand your point about variety. I think some of the GF restaurants might suit you, or you could consider getting a reservation at Trail's End at Fort Wilderness. Similar feel to visiting the WL, still have a nice boatride over to MK, but maybe the reservation time would work.

My suggestion would be to consider the Plaza Restaurant at MK. Good food, relatively inexpensive, and right on Main Street for convenience. The setting is lovely, too. It's always been one of my favorites.

Honestly, I've never taken a boat over to WL after Wishes, so I'm not sure, but I'm thinking it would be a really big push. Leaving MK after fireworks is hectic enough - have you thought about switching out your Crystal Palace ressie for WCC. You didn't mention what your day with the Crystal Palace ressie involved, but I'm guessing it involves MK in some way. Could you hop a boat on that day and go to WCC? Then on your last day, you could sleep in, swim or whatever, and get ready for dinner and go straitght to Crystal Palace - then Spectromagic - then Wishes.....

Thanks everyone for your suggestions!! I am still unsure. I called back to reserve Chef Mickey's and there is no availability there either. So, I went ahead and reserved O'hanas b/c I didn't want to be stuck without any options. I am really hoping that as it gets closer someone will cancel WCC or CM and we can go there.

We have 3 definate days planned for MK and one open day which might be spent there. However, they go like this...

9/21 - for MNSSHP - We plan on arriving at MK at 4 and staying til midnight. I know we won't get a lot of rides in, but I can't use a ticket day here so I'd rather not leave the park to eat.

9/22 - day after MNSSHP - sleeping in, pool time, go to MK when we're ready.
The main point of today is to see Spectro and Wishes

9/25 - 8:10 ressie for CRT, tour park until about 6:30, go to Poly for Luau @8
We should be able to get in a lot of rides/attractions on this day

And our last day 9/30 is unscheduled. We will likely go back to MK to end our trip there. We have O'hanas breakfast at 8:10, then to a park, and can stay as late as 4 or 5pm if needed.

I am considering the Concousre idea. Any other suggestions, thoughts?!!!
Keep them coming, I really appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!!

Melanie
