We are 3 adults and 1 child. We may have an extra adult one night for dinner in September. Is it better to make an ADR for 4, and maybe show up with one extra adult, or should I make an ADR for 5, knowing only 4 may show up? Will we still be seated, or will we have a really long wait? Thanks for your help!

It may prove to be much easier to remove people from your reservation than it is to add them. Make your reservation for 5. As long as it's not a restaurant with a credit card hold, you can try showing up with 4.

I just called Disney and they confirmed when there is a credit card guarantee they will charge you $10 for each person who is a no show.

If not a CC, I would book for 5. That takes a larger table. If you have a table for 4 and 5 show, they may not seat you.
If you have 4 and had an ADR for 5, it would still work.
We had that happen a couple weeks ago at Le Cellier. Our ADR was for 5....then DDIL had to take a conference call, so couldn't make it. They didn't mind at all and seated us at a table for 4.

Without a credit card hold, it's easier to book for 5 and have only 4 show up. Four people can sit at a table for 5, but 5 cannot sit at a table for 4. It'll be harder to add the other person.

We booked for 4 last time, and the other couple cancelled. I kept the ADRs for 4 and only 2 came. No problem.
