ADR/EMH timing question...

Just got a 8:15 ADR Crystal Palace for our first full day at MK {Friday 12/7 if that matters} and EMH has the park opening at 8am that morning. What time should we leave the Contemporary to be there on time, a little early so we get seated as close to time as possible? We have a 7DMT FP at 10am and it's my son's first trip so I know the walk there will be a bit rambling I'm sure.

I have to ask... are you totally committed to eating at that hour vs taking advantage of EMH time? If this were me, I’d be so antsy sitting in the restaurant knowing I could be having a little lower crowd morning time.

Yes pretty much. Reasons are as follows...It's his first trip, he's only 4, turning 5 while there, he doesn't know what he's missing if we miss something, we will be back at some point to do whatever we miss this trip, he likes Pooh, he loves breakfast, we are doing the club fast passes so we have 6 fast passes that day, it's the first of two MK days and we will have also done the Christmas party the night before.

So what time do you think we should plan to get there?

Lol, sorry for being nosy. Your plan sounds legit.

Since you’re not in any rush, I’d probably want to be walking out of CR 7:45ish.

Ahh, my bad. I assumed you’d be walking from CR. The resort monorail runs clockwise so when it leaves CR it will make stops at TTC, Poly, and GF first before getting to MK. You will go through security at CR before boarding the monorail.

I’m a bit hesitant to quote an exact time that will all take as it’s tough to judge how long you’ll wait for a monorail, how long each stop will be, etc. I’d very roughly peg 15-25 minutes from CR monorail security to the MK front entrance assuming no delays, although it could longer if unlucky.

My last bit of unsolicited advice (and then I’ll be quiet) is to maybe save the monorail rides for other points in the trip when you don’t have ADR timing concerns, and walk that morning instead, if an option for you. Sorry again for the unsolicited commentary.

If you're going to take the monorail, I'd recommend leaving the CR by 7:15
