ADR disaster

So, I've been waiting for this day for the last 200+ days, and have spent hours debating which restaurants we should book today. So imagine my horror when I tried to book and the system is down. I even tried ringing only to be told they system was down as well!!!

Not happy, especially as it's still down NOW!!! So I thought I'd express my dismay on here, and when I spoke to a couple of friends about it earlier all I got was vacant looks

Fingers crossed everyone else is experiencing the same problems so your ADR's will still be available when you can get on.

Don't know if it's related but the whole Magic Band system is down at the moment, we're here now and yesterday couldn't use our Magic Bands to charge or use Dining Plan credits. We had to pay in cash and claim back ( that was last night and haven't claimed back yet as they can't process until system is back).

Apparently a system 'upgrade' that's gone horribly wrong, so I suspect no-one can book ADRs at the moment.

What's made it worse is that the only must have reservation we wanted was Crystal Palace on our first morning and now they've all gone :-(

Absolutely gutted!! What's the chances of a time being rereleased?

I'd say that it is almost guaranteed that a time will be given up by someone - the trick is being online when that happens so you can grab it before someone else does.

Definitely try the reservation finder at touringplans.com. It will not make or hold a reservation for you, but it will routinely check for available options and e-mail or text you if it finds something.

We used it for our trip and it worked great for us when trying to move reservations around at Ohana for dinner.

After speaking to the wife we have decided to make the best of it and will use the first day to do the morning celebration at the gates and have managed to bag a Crystal Palace booking on Thanksgiving at 8.30 so that'll assure we get in that day!!

keep checking. they won't release more tables, but cancellation do happen

I've just cancelled 8 ADRs for august, and rebooked different ones, even at hard to get locations. And we're 2 months out

Mind you, I've even scored chef mickey's ADR on the day of, or the day before, when it had been sold out for the previous 4 months ...

I managed to get a California Grill ADR for 7pm on a night when MK has Extra Magic night hours for our trip in July just last week. It was fully booked but I stalked the Disney website 2 or 3 times a day since we booked 6 weeks ago and then last week I struck gold and there it was

So I definitely echo the statement of never give up

Get that app on your mobile phone and stalk your ADR. Patience pays? Two years ago I booked a May trip in late February. ADRs not what I wanted. By the time we flew I had secured the 8 ADRs I was originally after all within a half hour of our preferred time. Got the last one a couple of minutes before we border our flight. Then subsequently cancelled two of them during the holiday last minute. They change by the minute you just have to be on it!!!!!!! Good luck.
