ADR day, share the stress, the good and the bad

Got through straight away...I may have got the phone prompts written down so this helped a lot, i just pressed the numbers instead of listening to the messages...got a very friendly CM who was so helpful and got nearly everything i wanted. could not get California Grill and i tried for 3 different nights and i couldnt get Crystal Palace for the morning i wanted, although I turned down Chef Mickeys and she said I was the first person ever to do that:lmao: Also had to take Hollywood Brown Derby for Fantasmic as no mama melrose at all. So heres what i got:

ADR..time wanted...time got:

23- Tusker House..8am...8:20am
23- Ohana...9pm...9:45pm!
24- Tokyo Dining..2:30pm...2pm
25- Hollywood Brown Derby FDP..3:50pm
26- Artist Point..9pm...8pm
27- Rose and Crown.12pm..12pm yay!
27- Raglan Road..9pm...8pm
28- Boma..7pm..7pm yay!

so not the perfect plan i had but pretty close and i think Artist Point is a nice alternative to california grill, shame about the view but never mind;) I have 7 credits and will pay OOP for Tusker House and Tokyo Dining as we are going for the sushi and thats not really on the dining plan anyway. now i can sit back and relax in the sunshine:woohoo:

good luck to everybody still on the line or calling soon

Well done glad to hear it wasnt as bad as you had expected.

Did you need your US reservation number?

It was a bit easier for me as my booking was with disney us instead of uk so I had the right res no, but that was the first thing i was asked for. Sorry so many of you are having problems with this res no thing, doesnt seem fair at all!:headache:

Glad you got nearly all you wanted Claire :)

Good Luck for tomorrrow Andrea, hope it's not too stressful :goodvibes

Well done getting your ADRs! You got them pretty close!!

I'm dreading my turn in a few weeks.

I'm really stressing about the whole res. number thing!!

Well i just called disney dining back and now I have my Crystal Palace ressie for breakfast:woohoo:its not 8am but I got an 8:25am so will just go early and hope to be seated as close to 8am as possible. i just lovebeing in there before park opening. still no california grill or mama melrose FDP so am sitting on Artist Point and Hollywood Brown Derby but will keep trying;) oh call me crazy but i have just switched our rose and crown to san angel inn. i didnt love the food last time at san angel but this time its lunch instead of dinner and its so pretty in there, a bit more romantic i think. heres hoping its much better this time:wizard:

Good luck torsie, try not to get too stressed, just have backups written down in case and be prepared to switch your days around if you need to, the more flexible you are the better your chances.

I have just got off the pohne...what a palaver. I rang the UK number earlier and asked for my US res number and she said, just ring us at noon and we will put you through. sounds good I thought:cool1:

so I set out my stall i.e. pen, spare pen, lucky gonk...etc and rang uk disney at noon. answered quickly and I had no problems with her finding my number and confirming my res, dates, hotel etc. she said she would transfer me to the dining line which she did. i was put on hold and told my call would be answered within 25 mins :scared1:. So i held and listened to some disney tunes :) after approx 25 mins lo and behold my call was answered. gave my name, travel dates address etc and waited and waited and after much time had passed I was told basically computer says no , there was no record of my reservation. she asked if i would hold whilst she tried to call customer services to find my res number. - que more disney tunes...she kept checking to see if I was still there... lady! where else would I be :rotfl:

after a long wait she had my number but OMG my travel dates did not match, I was all of a dither, how could this happen. anyway she said she could go ahead and book my ressies up to 3rd anyway so I went ahead.

I was really worries after my 1st request as she had NOTHING out of my 5 choices. I wanted around 5-7pm and all she had was 9.30pm plus YIKES was I concerned. eventually here is want I got, and it turned out ok, only a few places had to be swapped around popcorn::

26/8 Crystal Palace 7.30pm

27/8 tutto italia 5pm

28/8 CRT 10.30am ( :cool1:)

28/8 san angel inn 6:15pm ( wanter Le Celleir :sad2:)

29/8 1900 Park fayre 9am

30/8 Mama Melrose 5;15pm

31/3 Hoop-de-doo 5pm

1/9 Calli Grill 7:55pm ()

2/9 Narcoossee's 7:40pm

3/9 Boma 7.30pm

I am sooo please with getting CRT and CG, as we have never been to these before :worship: Now all I have to do is sort out my dates wiyj UK disney

Phoned for my summer ADR's last night.:goodvibes We've decided this year that we won't be overdoing the Disney restaurants (not in one trip anyway as we have October, Christmas and Easter trips planned to fill in the gaps.

The phone call was much longer than ever before- maybe 25 minutes of inaudible Disney sounds before someone took my call. I got my CP breakfast without a problem as well as our first dinner at Rose & Crown (family reason makes this compulsory). Surprisingly I also managed to get a Cal Grill dinner reservation for 7.30 on only my 2nd date option. Our failures were La Cellier and Spoodles where we have never previously dined but thought we should try it before it closes - seems like everyone else has the same idea.:confused3
The only other slight problem which I had never encountered previously was acceptance of my UK credit card. It took about 5 minutes for the cast member to "fix"it although he did kindly and constantly reassure me that the problem was his and not my card.
All in all I reckon I was on the line for approximately 65 minutes - as I said, considerably longer than ever before.

Disney UK really need to start giving out the US reservation number to customers as well as their own when this is occurring constantly, the time spent sorting things out could mean missing out on places like Le Cellier, CG, CRT etc.

(The above bit should be a quote not sure what happend there?)

Stupid Question why do they need a credit card if you are just making reservations?

Hi Starrsky - They require credit card details for some of the signature restaurants (e.g. California Grill) There is a 48 hour cancellation period or a $20 charge for no show at these restaurants. Does that make sense - I'm sure someone will correct me if the details are wrong.

That is correct. I had to leave credit card details for my California Grill reservation which we are paying out of pocket for rather than our dining plan credits. We definately won't be cancelling though as it is our anniversary meal!

California Grill has become our favourite restaurant for special occasions. We had our 25th anniversary meal there (it's been so long since I posted photos I can't remember how to do it just now) and last October DW celebrated a *biggie* birthday. When we were discussing with the family which restaurant to go to (meaning in Glasgow!) DD, tongue in cheek, piped up with the idea of going to CG as it was our favourite. After a little consideration we had a lovely meal once again overlooking Magic Kingdom. :confused3

Danauk - I'm sure you'll have a wonderful evening for your anniversary at California Grill.
