ADR conflicts with Fantasmic

I just realised that I booked dinner at Sci-Fi for 7pm, right when Fantasmic starts. That might be our only night to see it, so should I change the ADR time, or will the restaurant stay open after 7? The park closes at 7 that night, so I'm not sure if I can just walk in after Fanstasmic is done.

I don't quite understand your question?
Illuminations normally is at 9pm. If you have a 7pm ADR at the Studios you should be able to make it to Epcot in time for Illuminations. You can walk or boat to the Epcot International Gateway from the Studios in about 30 minutes. The walk is actually faster, maybe 20 minutes or so.

By some chance are you referring to Fantasmic, the show at Disney Studios? As the previous poster said, Illuminations is as EPCOT and starts at 9 p.m. If you meant Fantasmic, I'd try for an earlier ADR at Sci-Fi.

Assuming you mean Fantasmic, you can't just show up to your reservation an hour late and expect them to seat you even if they were open. But its moot, they will close, the cast members won't let you back to that part of the park after Illuminations (unless the park is open late that night, in which case you might be able to move your ADR back)

Oops, I meant Fantasmic....thanks. Can you tell I am a newbie to this? So if I change my ADR to 6, is that enough time?

If Fantasmic is at 7pm you won't have enough time with a 6pm ADR. You don't necessarily get seated right at the ADR time since it is not techincally a reservation. It guarantees you the next available table for your size party. I would recommend a 5:30pm ADR. This way you won't have to rush through your meal.

With only one Fatamsic show you'll want to get there at least 30 minutes before the show. Even a 5:30p reservation is pushing it. A 15-20 minute wait for a table, even with a reservation, isn't unheard of. You'd be better off switching to a lunch reservation.

If you want to eat after Fantasmic just pick a restaurant in the EPCOT resort area.

We usually do a 5:00 ADR for Brown Derby and then see Fantasmic at 7PM. This is early Dec, not a very busy time. This year the earliest time I could get at 90+10 was 5:20 and I'm a little worried. We do have a couple other nights we could catch it, so I'm happy about that.
PS-we like to catch Fantasmic, than get on the boat and go to Epcot to see Illuminations. The kids and I stake out a spot in Epcot while DH goes to get us beer from United Kingdom or Margaritas from Mexico. It works out well.
