ADR Changers - We still don't know what we want for dinner!

Just giving our little thread a bump since it's been rather quiet.

Hope everyone has had a great week! :goodvibes

I hear ya about the rain....today is the 1st time we've seen sunshine since Monday! I hope you have a great weekend, also! :goodvibes

I'm still around. :)
Haven't changed any ADRs since my last post, but I've thought about it!

No ADR changes here either but I did go to the site yesterday and check to see if there might be an earlier time for CP on my MK day, now tell me I am nuts since I have one for 8:10am , only 8:05 is earlier plus I make this one before you had to guarantee with a cc so changeing for 5 mins makes no sense at all :rotfl:

:wave2: That's ok if you don't have any ADR changes....feel free to stop by any time & just chat! I think I have my ADR itinerary set for December. We'll see if it's still the same by the time my 180 day rolls around in June. Although, I've been so busy with stuff for the house we're building & trying to get my son registered for preK4 in the fall (that's quite a story :headache: ) that I haven't been able to re-think any of my ADRs.....yet. :rolleyes1

That completely sounds like something I would be doing! Even if it's a 5 minute difference, I'm always in search of the "best" ADR. Since you made your ADR before the cc guarantee, I would probably keep it. :thumbsup2

I know it is crazy :rotfl2: But oh so addicting to go see what is available :)

Ok, so now I'm dreaming about getting free dining (really had a dream last night about it). If I do, I will probably upgrade to either Wilderness Lodge or Boardwalk and get the free Deluxe Dining. If I do this, then I will probably change the majority of my reservations... Thinking ahead of making a list , that way I will be ready " just in case". However, if I dont get a PIN and they release FD March 1 ( rumor has it ), then I only have 90 days out and it might be harder to get what I want. Lord have mercy, at that point, I might just upgrade, keep what I have and save a couple of hundred bucks... the possible choices are endless..... I figure if we stay on the DDP , we will be spending at least $15 a day on additional snacks, probably $75 on having water and a some items delivered by garden grocer. There are two of us so, and we are there for 8 days so, that's around $200 right there. If we go deluxe, I wont have to worry about any of that so, it shaves the cost some.

Staying at a Deluxe Resort you only get the DDP just like at the Mods during FD. You will need to upgrade to DxDP. I know for DH and I the room discount at BWI saved us more than the FD and upgrading to DxDP

Hi everyone, :goodvibes

WHY. CAN'T . I. Stop???!!!:rotfl2:

Hubby says I'm a wee bit obsessive. LOL Ya think?? :rotfl:

Don't worry - I think we're all a bit obsessive! So, at least you're in good company, right?!? :lmao:

Teppan Edo is definitely a fun place to eat. And Kona is very yummy!

Now....the big question is........are those the last changes? :confused3 :rotfl:

I am considering scrapping all our ADRs except Cali Grill and just winging it for our March BWI CL trip. :scared1:

We are usually strictly ADR people and this would really be a fun and different experiment for my DH and I to try. Since it will be just us this trip, it will be easy to be spontaneous and what looks good to us at the moment when we feel hungry. I'd like to really explore the counter service offerings at the Parks I always read about here on the DISboards, especially at Epcot where we always are too full :sad2: to take advantage of World Showcase offerings.

Since every ADR is still available for the first weekend in March as it is a slow time of year at WDW, we could still get in somewhere if our little experiment goes bad :lmao:. We'll have BWI CL to give us a little boost in the mornings, but we probably won't take advantage of the early evening or dessert CL fare as we'll be on the go.

My question to you: IS this a crazy idea? Does anyone have must-do favorite counter service items at the Parks that I should consider making a point to try? Thanks. :goodvibes

I don't think it's crazy at all. If this was your 1st & only trip to Disney, then I'd tell you to make sure you have some ADRs. But, that's definitely not the case. Honestly, I found on our last trip we got tired of having an ADR every day. Now, I'll still have a lot for our December trip but there will be a few days where we just do CS meals. I say go for it!

Here are some my favorite CS meals:

I love the half roasted chicken at Cosmic Ray's in Magic Kingdom. It's a very good portion with green beans & potatoes (I think). A little different from your typical CS meal.

Also, Flame Tree BBQ @ AK is a family favorite. I think my DH normally gets the ribs. I always get the chicken. Both are delicious!

In DTD, we love Wolfgang Puck Express. We love the pizza. I've also heard Earl of Sandwich is a great CS option in DTD. I really want to give it a try in December.

I'll have to try & think of some others.....

amandaw, thank you so much for the ideas. I am looking forward to trying all three of these along with a few others offered by my DISfriends. While the ADRs are so much fun :woohoo: to plan, going overboard with too many ADRs can get cumbersome. Our last few WDW trips have found even me groaning at always having to BE SOMEWHERE at a certain time for a ADR. :upsidedow

CS is also a side of WDW I have really missed out on for many years now. I think this will be liberating and breathe some new life into this Anniversary trip. Last years for our Anniversary trip, DH and I did all 4 parks in one day. So maybe each year our anniversary trip planning will find us doing something a little different than usual to spice up our marriage... to WDW, that is. ;)

I like your idea of trying something new for each anniversary trip! :thumbsup2 Sometimes when I'm planning our next trip, I start thinking of all the things we've never done. I find myself trying to pack in too many new things. Then, I make myself take some new things off the list so that we'll have more new things to try for future trips. My DH & I did all 4 parks in 2 days once (prior to having our son). But, I think all 4 in 1 day is pretty impressive! :goodvibes

And I really do think your lack of ADRs will make for a nice & different trip. I have about 3 days on our possible itinerary for December that doesn't have ADRs. I think it'll be nice to just have a few days without that "we have to be here by...." cloud looming over our day.

Thank you for creating this thread! I am so glad to know I'm not alone in my obsessive planning of where to eat at WDW! There are just TOO MANY choices and with the online menus it is way too easy to look at those and think, hmm that sounds good, I should switch to this restaurant, which then means switching our whole itinerary! My husband is so tired of hearing me talk about this and it's February he's got until the end of May until we leave...:rolleyes1

I will be watching to see all the ideas/changes! popcorn::

:welcome: Sounds like you definitely belong here with us. Now, whether that's a good thing or a bad thing, I just don't know! There are indeed so many good choices to make when it comes to dining at Disney. Can you imagine if they didn't have all these choices? What would we all do while waiting for our vacation to actually get here? :confused3

My DH puts up with my Disney planning obsession pretty well. He learned (just within the last year) that he might as well just go along with it because I'm going to talk about it no matter what. :lmao: Tell your DH it could be worse: I'm already obsessing over ADRs & we don't leave until Dec. 8th! :rotfl:

Um...probably not! :lmao:

Yeah, I didn't think so! :rotfl2:

I had the urge to change something again today......... I did go and look at availability for some of my dates but left my ADR's as is .........for now............ I just do not know what I want to do :confused3

Why do I get like this ????
