ADR Changers - We still don't know what we want for dinner!

We are on the Disney Dining plan and will pay for three out of pocket (Chefs, Tea, and Tusker)

May 31--
Brunch--Crystal Palace (old favorite)
Dinner--Cape May Clam Bake (daughter's fave)

June 1--
Lunch--Chefs (old fave)
Dinner (ish)--Garden View Tea at the Grand FLoridian (we did this last year and loved it)

June 2--
Dinner--Maya Grill (new try convenient for us)

June 3--
Dinner--Kouzzina (new try--still not sure about this one)

June 4--
Dinner--Captain's Grill (our third trip here)

June 5--
Dinner--Teppan Edo (did this last year and loved it)

June 6--
Dinner--Ohana (I'm not sure about this one, as there are bananas in dessert and my daughter has a banana allergy)

June 7--
Brunch before we leave--Tusker House (never done this one)

Some places we wanted to fit in but couldn't--
Plaza (for oop meal)
California Grill (time isn't being our friend, but Kouzzina may be replaced with this one and then we'll do this one oop)

I've known one person to eat there for dinner & they liked it. The dinner menu does look really good. I say go for it! My DH was wanting to have dinner there on our next trip but I just couldn't work it into our schedule. I wanted to try it for breakfast but, again, I couldn't make it work for us. Let me know if you end up eating there....I need a review!

I'm so happy for you that you were able to move around ADRs & get all you want! :goodvibes Yeah, I think Ed would enjoy the belly dancers at Marrakesh, too. The food - not so much. I hope it's a pleasant surprise for y'all & that meal is wonderful! You'll have to tell me how Mama Melrose is. We've never eaten there. I'm contemplating doing a dinner ADR there so we could get the F! package, but as of right now, I have 50's Prime Time in our schedule. Looks like you have a really great ADR schedule for y'all. Now, the question is.....will it stay that way? :rotfl:

We ate at MM years ago and enjoyed it , we also ate at HBD enjoyed it but not enough food for DH or at the time My DS18 and his friend also 18.
Originally I had booked HBD for the F! DH's pick but then he said he just as soon do MM after reading the menu(found out he could get steak there).
MM seems to get mixed reviews but then it is only 1TS credit compared to HBD being 2 credits so MM it is(as of now) :rotfl:

I love the food at 50's Prime Time but DH does not care for the servers antics so skipping that one this trip too :sad1:

Sounds like you have a really good plan for y'all! :thumbsup2 Can you send in a dietary form prior to the trip so that they'll be aware of your daughter's banana allergy? I would think they could whip up some sort of alternative dessert. :confused3

We really enjoy the Plaza. And it's a good place to pay OOP. You never know - it may work its' way into the schedule before you leave!

For California Grill - could you just not get a good time that would work for y'all?

Oh, and I would love to do the DxDP instead, but that would necessitate moving back to POP Century.

I want to try the DxDP one day. But, it is a big jump in price and while we do eat a lot, I don't know if we'd eat that much. Although, I'm sure we would find a way! :lmao:

I've never done the F! package before, so excuse me if these are stupid questions:

1. There's not extra charge for the F! package, right?
2. If there are 2 showings of F!, can you only go the 1st showing?
3. If you do the F! package but don't end up going to see F!, there's no penalty right?

I'm kind of thinking now about changing 50's to MM & doing the F! package. That way, if we do end up wanting to see it, we wouldn't have to wait in the long line to get into it.

amanda F! pkg is just one TS and includes an app if you are only on the DDP

You are correct if there are 2 shows the vip seating tix are good only for the 1st show but if you decide to skip F! no harm no foul.

We have never seen F! and I would really like to see it but if DH legs start acting up or he gets grumpy we can just skip the show. I do have a late dinner planned over at YC at Cap't Grill for after F! since we are doing MM for late lunch

I'm thinking Cali Grill instead of Kouzzina and paying for that out of pocket.

creativeamanda to me the menu at Cali Grill seems more appetizing but of course it is more expensive too but then you can see Wishes from there so I guess it balances out price wise.

Ok, I am able to Book ADR's in Feb! I think i've figured it out.. probably not or I wouldn't be on this thread. 5 day stay at Aspo, With dining plan. (Hopefully it ends up being a FREE dp :P)

Day 1: MK-- O'Hana for dinner (first time)

Day2: DHS-- 50's prime time for lunch. I would like to head to Kona for breakfast just for the Tonga toast and pay oop. How hard would it be to get there from Aspo?

Day 3: Epcot-- Via Napoli for Dinner, Snacking throughout the countries during the day.

Day 4: DAK-- saving our TS for 1900 Park Fare Cinderella Dinner :)

Day 5: MK-- Crystal Palace Breakfast

For QS I was thinking about Cosmic Rays, Columbia Harbour House, Turkey Legs and DHS and Yak and Yeti CS? What do you guys think??

I can not be of much if any help.

Never been to 'Ohana but love the food at 50's Prime Time.

Have never ate at Kona but I would think you could catch a bus to MK then boat or monorail over to Poly?

I have heard great things about the CS places you mentioned but have never tried any of them either.
We do enjoy a turkey leg sometimes on our trips YUMMY

Never have been to 1900 Park Fare either but do like CP for breakfast we have an ADR there for our upcoming trip, love getting into MK early

See not much help :rotfl:

I'm thinking Cali Grill instead of Kouzzina and paying for that out of pocket.

Given those 2 options....I would probably choose Cali Grill. The menu does sound really good to me. And, supposedly, it'll be closing in the fall while they refurb the roof at CR. And it's supposed to re-open with a new theme, etc. I think that's the best choice out of those 2.

Thank you for that info on the F! package. That's great to know that if we don't make the show it's no big deal. Now, I'm thinking about doing an early dinner at MM to get the F! package. I LOVE Fantasmic but we haven't gone during our last 2 trips since those were Reid's 1st trips & I wasn't sure how he would like it. I'm thinking he'll be okay with it this time. Time to go tweak my schedule! :lmao:

Sounds like you have some good TS meals picked out for y'all! :thumbsup2 We love Cosmic Rays - you have variety & the portions are good-sized. I want to try the Yak & Yeti CS this year! Just FYI - another great CS in DAK in Flame Tree BBQ. It is my DH's favorite & isn't too happy about trying something different this year.

As for getting from Aspo to Poly, you could do 1 of 2 things:

1. Take the bus to MK & then boat or monorail to Poly

2. Take a taxi to Poly. Probably wouldn't be that much $. This past May, my family (there's 2 adults & 1 child) took a taxi from WL to CR for an early ADR & it was like $8. Now granted, WL is not far from CR. But, I wouldn't think it would be that much from Aspo to Poly.

:lmao: Well, you wouldn't be here if you weren't a changer! :rotfl:

I do think your ADRs look really great now! :thumbsup2 So happy for you that you were able to work in Cali Grill. I think that'll be such a nice dinner. Do you think your dinner time will allow y'all to catch Wishes while eating?

No--dinner is at 5:30pm. That is the night I plan to take my camera equipment into the park, anyway, for pictures of Wishes, so it will be fine. Actually better. Because I won't be lugging around equipment for hours and hours. I expect dinner at Cali Grill to last 1.5-2 hours. Then, we'll do a monorail route visit towards Magic Kingdom.

Well, it sounds like it will out perfectly for y'all! I would love to take my tripod into the park one night to try & get better firework pictures. But, I'm definitely not lugging that around all day. I don't mind lugging around my DSLR because I get great shots with it & I have a great bag that makes it easy. But, a tripod is such a hassle! :headache: My son doesn't really like fireworks, so maybe I could put him & DH to bed & then head back out to MK with the tripod! Guess it will depend on how early the park closes on a night where I could work that out.

I'm still clueless about our late June-July trip. Have a few I want to fit in... yet nowhere to fit them... so means gotta whittle down our list of wants.. which I really dont' want to do.

DH is dying to try BW Bakery too and I noticed they have sugar free items for me :)

I bet all your kids can not wait to get into that sweet shoppe on the Boardwalk , wall to wall candy treats

I think it was you that mentioned funnel cakes I have never had them, at least I do not think I have unless they are called something different around here :confused3

I emailed special diets and they sent me back a form which I have to send back, I really just want the special plate of treats at the dessert party I have read about that are sugar free, as for my other meals I just pick and choose/substitute as needed, I have to see how the form is set up. I hope I can just fill it out for the dessert party and not all our meals

I should think with utilizing the CL offering you could do late breakfast would never work for me and DH he would be starving to death.

I can never fill up with BF but the kiddos and DH can. He's so picky I get nervous with ADRS. Esp. since I am not a big "park planner" we kinda play it by ear. And now DH wants we to check out BC...did he not remember I shook hands with HRH....Guess he really doesn't want to try BWI :confused3 He even mentioned GF...which HRH will NOT go for..funnel cakes are kinda like Zeppolis (if that helps) just not as thick but super yummy (but covered with powdered sugar)

I've never done a late breakfast ADR before but I think I'll try it out for one meal just to see how it works out for us. I'm thinking of trying it out on Hollywood & Vine.

Hmmmm :scratchin ....... my wheels are turning AGAIN! :lmao:

popcorn::

I thought I was done with my ADR changes but I had to tweek my one for Marrakesh, the more I thought about it the first dinner show is not until 5pm so I switched my 3:30 to 4:15pm. I think that time will work out better, from what I have researched the belly dancer comes out roughly 10mins into the show so 5:10 or so , we should be seated and maybe just getting to dessert by then.

Also I read that The Royal Feast can be ordered if on the dining plan-1TS credit but there is an upcharge depending what dining plan you have DDP or DxDP of $5-7. This was the additional charge back in 2010

Has anyone eaten at Marrakesh and ordered the Royal Feast more recently, just wondering about the charge. The menu prics on the Disney.com site list it at $42.99

still pondering...... Staying at the POP... is it unrealistic to have 3 meals at Epcot???
Thinking of booking Chefs for dinner... and this will mean an additional trip to Epcot.

I don't think it's unrealistic. And from all of the good talk that's been going on here about Chefs, I'd definitely try to work it in! :thumbsup2

Good Morning Everyone!

Hope everyone is having a good start to the week. Monday was very busy & not too good for me. Yesterday was also very busy but it was a really good day. So, overall, my week is pretty balanced so far! I finally got around to tweaking my possible ADR schedule for our December trip. Let me know what you think - here it is below:

Saturday, Dec. 8th: B - items brought from home
L - will check into POP & then go eat @ the food court
D - OHana (hopefully)

Sunday, Dec. 9th: B - items brought from home
L - Cosmic Ray's
D - Pop food court

Monday, Dec. 10th: B - OHana (yep, y'all talked me into it!)
L - Electric Umbrella
D - Chefs de France

Tuesday, Dec. 11th: B - items brought from home
L - Yak & Yeti counter service (if DH really will give up eating at Flame Tree BBQ)
D - Beaches & Cream (then I want to check out the Boardwalk)

Wednesday, Dec. 12th: B - items brought from home
L - counter service at Islands of Adventure
D - Earl of Sandwich

Thursday, Dec. 13th: B - small item brought from home for our son
L - Hollywood & Vine (I'm really planning on doing the last breakfast ADR of the morning for this so it will be more like brunch)
D - Mama Melrose (I'm going to book the F! package & try to get an ADR around 430)

Friday, Dec. 14th: B - items brought from home
L - I'd really like to try out Gaston's Tavern if it's open by the time we go, if not, we'll just hit up Cosmic Ray's again
D - I am DYING to try the Be Our Guest table service. I really, really hope it will be open during our trip. If not, we are thinking about trying Tony's Town Square.

Saturday, Dec. 15: B - Kona Cafe
L - Via Napoli

Then, we will leave Epcot around 230 or 3 & drive about 5 or 6 hours towards home.

Now, I wonder if this will stay this way until June 11th when I can actually make my ADRs. :lmao:
