Our upcoming trip to Disney World is with a group of 12. (two of which are vegetarians) Here are our ADRs, any specific suggestions that will appeal to our vegetarians. Also, what are some of the best CS restaurants with vegetarian options?

  1. Boma
  2. Le Cellier
  3. Raglan Rd
  4. Jiko
  5. San Angel
  6. Germany
  7. Ohana
  8. Crystal Palace

If I remember correctly Ohana has a vegetarian option, does anyone remember what it is? Has anyone tried the veggie brger at Restaurantosaurus in AK? Is it any good?

Thanks in advance, we leave this week!

Just returned after 10 days on the DDP with 4 vegetarians.

Best TS for Vegetarians?

Tusker House-wonderful salads, tofu stir fry, couscous, breads, mac cheese, potato wedges, rice....I could go on and on! Our favorite restaurant!

Boma-very similiar to Tusker House-many many vegetarian options

Crystal Palace-garlic mashed potatoes, bread, salads, great pasta!, lots of choices

I was told Germany is NOT a good choice for a vegetarian.

The veggie burger at Cosmic Rays was good.

Also several places have veggie wraps and there is always pizza!!

Rose and Crown made me a veggie pot pie and Coral Reef had a great salad and a very unusual grilled tofu dish and made plain pasta with butter for my girls.

there should be plenty of food for the vegetarians in your party.

Oh, and Wolf Gang Puck in DTD has great vegetarian food and it is CS. We ate there twice! A great use of CS credits.

You will find vegetarian options at all those TS except Germany.
I have not been to Ohana, but have seen mixed reviews on what is available for vegetarians.
I would recommend you call ahead at these two to make sure that your veggie diner requets are marked on your ADRs.
San Angel Inn has a veggie menu with one selection but can modify other items on their regular menu too.

For counter service, here are some of our favorites:
Epcot -- Sunshine seasons in The Land, Tangerine Cafe in Morocco -- multiple choices in both locations
DHS -- Grilled veggie sandwich at Back Lot, pizza and salads at Pizza Planet
MK -- Veggie sandwich and veggie chili at Columbia Harbor House, veggie wrap and veggie burger at Cosmis Ray's
AK -- I think you're pretty much stuck with pizza and ceasar salad (ask for it without the chicken) at Pizzafari

Boardwalk Bakery -- wonderful grilled veggie panini sandwhich
Earl of Sandwich -- grilled pizza sandwhich

Most (possibly all) CS that have regular burgers also have veggie burgers. Ask if you don't see it on the menu.

Eeyore's Pal has it pretty much covered with CS. Animal Kingdom is the worst park for vegetarian CS.

I was told Germany is NOT a good choice for a vegetarian.

Not true. I was just dandy at Biergarten. :thumbsup2 Boma and Crystal Palace have wider selections, but Biergarten is fine.

I have not eaten there, but according to other vegetarians, 'Ohana has a noodle bowl that they can make for vegetarians; the set menu is not enough.

DH really wanted to eat here!! He is not a vegetarian and wanted to try this place but when I called Disney dining I was told that other than cold salads there was nothing for vegetarins here. Maybe we will try it is 2010.

:yay:

Couple other comments about Crystal Palace, Cape May, 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey's -- all buffets:

The chef has always been more than happy to walk through the buffet with us explaining ingredients in detail, including pointing out which items have beef or chicken stock in the base. To our delight, many soups at WDW are now made with vegetable stock! We have been able to eat tomato bisque and delicious mushroom and vegetable soups at so many restaurants!

We are big pasta lovers, but sometimes the pasta dish on the buffet includes meat or shellfish. Whenever that has been the case the chef has offered to make us an alternate pasta dish, with the sauce and veggies of our choice. We've had some wonderful custom pasta entrees, particularly at Cape May!

All of the buffet places have vegetarian options. All of the TS restaurants that I have been to will allow you to substitute ingredients that they have on hand. It's easy to leave out the chicken and add in extra veggies, etc..

My sister is a strict vegan and has had very good experiences. She calls each restaurant a week ahead of her departure, speaks with a chef, gives her scheduled day/time and they make a meal just for her if she does not see anything on the menu she would like. Sometimes there is only one item that she could eat but isn't something she would like. They are very agreeable. She has eaten at the Biergarten multiple times and had great meals.

If they want something like tofu, and it's not listed on the menu in any dish, if they call a week ahead, they can arrange to have it on hand the day you eat there.

Besides the veggie burgers around (she says they are very good btw), my sister likes the veggie sandwich at MK's CHH and DHS Backlot Express. She also like the CS at Morroco and loves the Sunshine place by the Land. Also, she loves the flavored ice at Japan. Not sure were you are staying, but the Roaring Forks at the WL makes some very good veggie sandwiches and salads.

Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the great replies. I will pass this thread along to our group members.

I have had the vegetarian option at Ohana's three times, it was the same dish every time a noodle/veggie/tofu bowl. The first two times it was delicious. The last time, it was edible, but not delicious. I hope it was just an off night. The dressing or sauce or whatever you want to call it just didn't taste the same, and was really..salty or something. It just wasn't flavorful like it had been on previous trips. Plus many of the sides that come for everyone are vegetarian.

As for CS suggestions, if it's open while you're there, El Pirata Y El Perico in the Magic Kingdom has vegetarian tacos that I've heard are very tasty, and in the past I've been able to get the taco salad with beans instead of meat. As an added bonus, it is connected to Pecos Bill so those who do not want tacos can get burgers (including a veggie burger) or whatever else is offered at Pecos Bill. I don't really recommend the veggie burger there though because the one time I got it, it was so dry and unappetizing. It was like the bun and the burger had been frozen together and were then thawed in the microwave together, so they were really dry, and the bun stuck to the burger, and it was just all around not good. Plus I don't really like the choices on the fixin's bar, but that's just my personal opinion.

Sunshine Seasons at Epcot is also a good counter service for similar reasons - there's a variety of type of foods to choose from for everyone in the party.

I am a vegetarian and can find food almost anywhere. But I am happy with a really good salad a lot of the times. Le Cellier probably doesnt have many choices, but you can call and give them 72 hours notice and I am sure they can accomidate almost any need.
