ADR 60+10 problem

We‘re staying at the Riviera Resort from May 16 to May 22 and then move to Bay Lake Tower until May 26. Both bookings are linked in the app and show up.

However, when I logged into the website this morning, it only let me book until May 22, not the full 10 days. Is that because of the split stay?

Anything I can do about that or do I have to wait for the T-60 from May 22 to be able to book the remaining days of our stay?

Yes that is because of the split stay. I have seen reports that if you call the dining reservation line, they can get the ADRs for the rest of your stay added. Not sure if that always happens or if that was just a couple one off situations though.

ETA: Reading up on past comments about this, it was typically from DVC members calling Member Services, but this option hasn't been available since the start of the pandemic. Many other places where people say they're going to try but don't report back. Some just choose to increase the stay at their first hotel to cover the length of the trip to make ADRs, then switch the hotel reservation back after the last day is within 60 days.

I am also doing a split stay mid May and this is just how reservations are with the splits. I called and talked to a cast member and there was 'nothing they could do.'

I learned my lesson about split stays with our October trip. We won’t ever book one again just because of the problem with dining. Previously, you could call and a CM would assist you by linking them. But they’re no longer able to do that.

Had no choice, it was all that was still available and I had enough points for. Besides, I like to try new resorts.

Disney should really do something about this.

This was my experience as well. They used to be able to link both reservations for the purpose of dining, but they are unable to do that anymore in the current system.

They haven't been able to overcome the split stay issue for at least 5 years, maybe longer. However, recent reports indicate that they're helping people book the full duration over the phone now. If you tried that and they declined, please let us know.

I tried yesterday and they declined. They said they used to be able to but the current system does not allow them anymore. I had success before the pandemic by calling in, but that appears to not be the case anymore.

I would strongly suggest that if making ADRs in one fall swoop is important, do not have a split stay. In my case, it could not be avoided. We are going on a conference and the conference rate is not available on our first day and I am unwilling to pay rack rate for 4 days when there is a good conference rate on the last 3 nights.
