ADR-180 Days for Non-WDW Guest?

I know that you can make ADR for 180 days out from your arrival and for guests for the next 10 days. I have stayed on proprty last few times.

BUT...

I'm not sure of my plans, so I have yet to book anything yet. In 1 month time would have to make my ADR.

If I don't a Resv yet can I make ADRs? How do they would know it's 180 day out?

If I stay 1-2 nights off property but will be at WDW, can I make ADRs 180 days out.

If I don't book anything whether on or off property, can I make ADRs 180 days out.

Not looking to book Cinderella's castle or hard to get places. Looking for good dinner times (important w/ 3 small kids). Probably will not be on DDP (unless there's free dining). Does it matter if on DDP or not?

Dining reservations are in no way connected to your resort reservation. Anyone can make dining reservations at the 180 day mark. They would know it's 180 days out because of the day you call and the day you are requesting. If you called 195 days out, those dates wouldn't even be in their system yet.

So call at 180 days and make your reservations. If they ask where you are staying, just say you are not sure yet.

Do they allocate a certain amt of table s for either?

Or doesn't matter until paying?

I'm pretty sure you can only make ADR's 180 + 10 if you're on WDW property. But 180 is fine. They needed my hotel reservation number in order to do the +10 part.

It does not matter whether you are on the DDP or not. They do ask, but just say not at this point. The only time it really matters is when you go to pay
