Thanks! It was sunset. I was lucky to be there at that time of day!
I think the pizza in the restaurant is different than the counter service pizza. At least I hope it is!

That night we went on LwtL, then Soarin', then SSE, and then we took the monorail back to the TTC & walked to the Poly.

The next morning, I had a late breakfast scheduled at Boma. You guys are going to think I am a total weirdo for saying this, but my favorite breakfast item there- grilled tomatoes. I think I ate about 15 of them that morning. You have to forgive me for the lack of food photos in this TR. I was terrible this time. I promise I'll be better in November. After loading up on grilled tomatoes, breakfast potatoes, fruit, & jungle juice, we took the bus to AK. This time, I didn't have my zoom lens. I had the wide angle lens instead.

After that ride, we decided to take a break before dinner, so we went back to the Poly. Dinner was at California Grill, so we took the monorail over to the Contemporary. The monorail was PACKED. I felt like a sardine!
We checked in on the second floor & went right up to the restaurant. We were seated within a few minutes.
The sun was just setting, so I ran out to take a few photos of the sunset (from the observation deck).

I ordered the Spring Vegetable Flatbread with Baby Artichokes, Asparagus, Forest Mushrooms, and Ricotta. It was awesome! My friend ordered sushi- I have no idea which sushi she got, but she loved it. I ordered the Artichoke and Pleasant Ridge Reserve Cheese filled Raviolis with Spinach, Black Garlic, and Parmesan Foam and she got the Pacific Halibut with House-Made Linguine, Lemon Artichokes, Tomato Confit, Rapini, and Lemon Beurre Blanc. Don't ask me what half of that stuff is!! It was a fantastic meal. We both had coffee & then went back to the room to change. We decided to see if DHS was still packed. It was about 10pm & the park was open until midnight. I didn't take my camera because I figured we wouldn't be there too long. We decided to head right for Star Tours because it WAS Star Wars weekends after all. ;) We waited for a while to get on Star Tours. As soon as we got off of the ride, we got right back on, then we did it again. I was the rebel spy in the second ride! After the 3rd ride, it was after midnight, but the CM asked us if we wanted one last ride- of course everyone agreed! :woohoo: We had to head back to the room after that because the park closed at 12am. We decided to sleep late the next day & get some pool time. I don't think I fell asleep until after 2am that night. What a fun day, though!

You guys did have a fun day!! I'm so glad your friend joined you for few days.
I don't know what most of that food is, either!! LOL
I've never been up to the observation deck - I didn't know what I was missing! The views are unbelievable and especially at Sunset!
All your pics are fantastic - as always!!

First off, gorrrrrrgeous pictures! Love them all especially the ones of the sunset. Did you happen to notice that you took two hidden Mickey pictures? The first one is on the wall with the tiger painting on it. The other one is in the mural with the guy on it. His earring is a hidden Mickey.

Oh I almost forgot something. Are the grilled tomatoes sliced and the grilled or do they do them like roasted red peppers and grill them whole? I love tomatoes and may have to try grilling some.

I don't know HOW I got that many updates behind.

First, let me just say that my next TR will be words only. You put us mere mortals to shame with our pictures after looking at yours! They are beautiful, spectacular, awesome, etc., etc., etc.

I love the fireworks pictures from the beach at the Poly.

I love Boma too -- I could drink a gallon of their juice.

Amazing--we've not been to Universal since 2004 and I cannot believe how much it has changed just from looking at your photos.

Just found you and joining in! I'll go back and read some later tonight...I hope you had a great time...can't wait to read about WAF!
