Does anyone else think that due to the lost revenue from the recent hurricane closures, Disney will increase their admission rates more than usual in 2005? I imagine that any DVC AP rate will be put on the back burner for a while, also.

I don't know. But the sole reason we bought APs was so we could try for AP rates in 2005. I will be furious if they don't release any in 2005.

I think it would be a really bad business move because I think many who get AP rates, get them in hopes that they might be able to get AP rates. I know they are not guaranteed, but I can honestly say that the May trip I have planned will not take place if AP rates do not come out, just the October trip 1/2 of which is going to be in our time share off site.

I think by isolating their AP people in 2005, they will find less and less people renewing the APs if they don't give out some of the rates/perks.

I know I won't renew if I don't get at least one AP rate in 2005 and they will be losing some money, because if I don't get AP rates, I will stay at off site / or cheaper hotels. I will also go less, and therefore spend less in the parks on food, snacks, souvenirs etc.

I really think it would be a bad move.

There is no doubt in my mind they will raise prices a little higher than usual next year. They took a huge hit this year. Either that, or they could make a big publicity splash out of NOT raising prices to try to get people into the parks. Either way, they're going to have to do something. I have had many calls from customers asking if they go down to FL any time of the year do they take the risk of getting blown away by a hurricane?

I don't think they'll stop the AP discounts - I think their real objective is to go people into the parks and restaurants. In fact, it must be just the opposite and good discounts might come out to attract more people into spending their money to make up for the losses.

I am so hoping resort rates are going to be heavily discounted again like they were after 9/11.

It was a good move then and I hope Disney remembers that little fact.

herc.
