DS2 has always been above the 95th % on the growth charts and currently can pass for 3 or 4 yr old. Has anyone ever had an issue getting a child into the Parks without a ticket even though they look like they need a ticket? Should I bring a copy of his birth cert just in case?

I don't know, but I'm considering doing this with my dd who will be 2 years and 11 months when we go. Although, she is on the small side and no one would mistake her for 3 (unless she talks--she has a rather advanced vocabulary). If you do bring a copy, I would make it just a photocopy, not the original.

A friend of mine had to pay the 3-9 rate for their 2 yo. They mailed a copy of the bc and received a refund.

Carrying a copy of proof of age is a great idea, helping diffuse confusion.

my son is actually off the graph .. he is now 5 and the age of an 8 year old.

We never were asked for id for him.. but he was always in a stroller.

Even when he was 4 we were never asked. Of course we had tickets for him when he was 4, but sometimes my DH forgot to put them through. we were never questioned.

We just came back this weekend. My just turned five year old daughter was in an umbrella stroller, and not once did they ask me for her card to put through the machine! She is a little above average in height, and defiantely looks her age. I wouldn't worry about it. A number of people told me they do this all the time and that it works. I myself didn't feel comfortable with that and had paid for her in advance. Hope this helps

When DD was 35 months, we visited WDW. She has always been quite tall and verbal for her age and I was very concerned about her being "proofed." I did carry a copy of her birth certificate for that trip, in case a CM at the gate or a buffet questioned her age. They never did, but the copy in my fanny pack gave me great peace of mind. Enjoy!

Great idea I'm bring copy of girls birth certificates just in case

I have a large two year old also, and he will say he's three if he's asked. We brought a copy of his birth certificate just in case, though we left it in the hotel safe. We thought it might be lost in the parks, and if we didn't need it, we shouldn't carry it, and although it would be inconvenient, we could always run back to get it. We were never asked for proof. They never even questioned us or him. It's so nice to go when they're still free!

Yep, great idea. I saw a family get questioned for sure! It was at the gate going into the parks. The child was most likely, quite honestly, older than 2. They ended up having to buy a gate-priced ticket when the sibling spilled the beans. THAT part was actually funny, lol. So if you carry some sort of proof, jsut in case, you will be fine!

I know my son will be 4 and finally just making the 40 inches. I think they shoud base admission by height instead of age. A 3yr old can't get on alot of rides if he/she is below 40 inches.

That said, my soon to be 4yr old won't get a ticket until I need to renew my AP's in August. So I am going to cross my fingers in June.

 :sad2:

Our 2 year old is off the charts as DH is 6'4"...we have never been asked, she has always been in a stroller when we go through any gate...I have never brought her birth certificate....

My son is very tall as well (he's been off of the height chart since birth). As a result, people always think he is a couple of years older than he is. I was never questioned about his admission at WDW, but I always carried a copy of his BC just in case.

Now DS is 11 and was 10 when we were there in January. Several times he was charged the adult price at buffets. I was very thankful to have a copy of his birth certificate. I'm sure they would have changed the bill without it, but it made me less paranoid to be able to prove his age.

Hmmm.... I'm wondering if DW36 would fit in an umbrella stroller. :rotfl:

This happened to me all the time when I was a growing up. My mom just started carrying a copy of my birth certificate in her purse all the time. I remember her having to pull it out several times. It happened more when I was on the child/adult border for admission. Ironically it happened more at smaller events, for example a circus or something like that, then it happened at large amusement parks.

We took our 2.9999 child last Dec just a week before he turned 3. My DH was questioned one day when entering MK. They simply asked how old and when he said 2 that was the end of it. I did have a copy of his birth certificate with me though just in case.
