My husband is in charge of all the cables, chargers etc when we go away but yeah, he never thinks to ask "do we have enough sunscreen, etc." Not on their minds I guess 😂
I hope you have a fabulous trip and with any luck, that silly emuster thread from the DCL forum will be closed before you get back 🤨 honestly, people are just freaking out over there on that one 🤣
I find a lot of the threads on the DCL forum to be chaotic lol I enjoy reading them despite never going on a Disney cruise before and I most likely never will (too expensive for 4 days).

It’s crazy the things that’s stick in your brain as a kid. My kids can recite the mesothelioma commercials that aired throughout their childhood. We got out of Guardians the other day and the “oh oh oh it’s magic” song was playing and my son said ohh this is the Ozempic song 🤣
my youngest memorized the entire craftmatic adjustable bed informercial when he was little-kept insisting he wanted one and would launch into the monologue. he next learn the life alert one and thought we were neglectful of his grandparents by not insisting the get them :rotfl2:
I’ve always liked human names for animals.
dh would have preferred our late cat had a human vs what our youngest at age 2 1/2 named it when it showed up in our yard ('meow') because when we moved and he ended up transporting the cat via car across 3 states he had an incident where the cat escaped from a motel room which resulted in dh running (in his underwear) around a parking lot shouting 'meow, meow' (he was convinced someone was going to call the psych ward on him)
My husband and I LOVE true crime shows. We both have a fairly foolproof plan to “off” each other.
i love them too! dh not so much but he does indulge me by helping to always make sure our bed in made up nicely each morning b/c i've have established what i call my 'dateline standards' (the bedrooms of murder houses always have unkempt beds-gotta make sure if we end up on one of these shows our bedroom sets a higher standard:duck:).

other topics-

hawaii-if you want to feel a bit better about inflationary prices at your local store go in one there b/c the prices have got to be astronomical (they were any time we went in one during better economic times).

barbie-i still have mine AND i still have the mary poppins outfits that were issued during the film's original release in the 60's.

finally-

every time i venture on to this thread some words of lewis carrol's come to mind-

"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes—and ships—and sealing-wax—
Of cabbages—and kings—
And why the sea is boiling hot—

And whether pigs have wings."

it seems to be the vibe so if we adopt it as the topic of the thread-we will always be on topic:idea:

happy easter all!

lol so true! But of course when he needs something he'll ask "do we have ___"

I will say though he does have some pluses as a travel companion--for WDW/USO trips I'm the one who creates the 3-ring binder for information and plans but for other trips he's often the one.

For this Mexico trip we have two 3-ring binders (for copies) that has our flight information (which I mean we use the SWA app lol), hotel information, schedule, tickets for things that we needed to purchase tickets for, copies of our passports, copies of our CDC vaccination cards, etc. He put that all together.

He's usually the one to do all the excel spreadsheets for the plans which I find endearing so I suppose there's that ;)

Thank you! And yeah no kidding about the other thread.

We're all checked into our SWA flights to Cancun (annoyingly non-stop is only available on Sat&Sun so we have a connection in Houston) for tomorrow and my husband just completed online check-in for the hotel :hyper:

We'll have to leave the house about 3am tomorrow for our 5:20am flight so it's going to be an early night..I think I'll have to wake up about 1:45-2am-ish :faint:

Oh for Barbie movie I'm totally down for seeing it, maybe not in theaters, but def. willing to see it. I grew up on Barbie and baby dolls. I'm pretty sure I had about 50 Barbie dolls and a few Ken dolls. I had a Barbie house too and a Barbie van. I'm sure the movie is just going to be the one it's so over the top silly that it works.
Oof, I do not envy your departure time but how exciting to be on vacation tomorrow!!

Like I said in another post, this thread is full of enablers so if you stick around long enough you'll have a flight booked to Honolulu by the end of the day ;)
Random Hawaii sidenote — Aloha Airlines went under the day before we were supposed to leave. I mean, in theory it’s a great place to be stranded but it was super expensive to find last minute lodging and plane tickets.

So I get targeted for liking IPAs and yet we're going to let this slide?

I think I win the internet today. My husband wears a fanny pack, and not just at Disney. 😂 😂

Around here in WI, everytime I hear "Oh, Oh, Oh...." I think "Oh, Oh, Oh, O'Reilly'ssssssssss..........autoparts!" It's a jingle everyone has bouncing around in their brain .....and is a running joke.

Gotta love Irish auto parts. ☘️ 🚗

Definitely not the same, but DSis and I got worried about my parents the other night because Mom hadn't answered her phone all day. Totally out of ordinary. We assumed they had gotten run over at Harris Teeter or something.

I decided to call one more time. A man with a thick southern accent answers. Note: my Dad is definitely a Midwesterner. Without thinking I say, "Mom....I mean, Dad???" Dude was like who IS this?

Duh, obviously I had the wrong number, but who did he think I was? Lol and who answers unknown numbers!

That is hysterical!!!

Yeah it's brutal but it does seem to be what SWA is doing now with their early morning as in getting earlier and earlier lol. There is actually a 5:05am flight but with the connection you wouldn't get there til a couple hours later than ours.

I used to remember the early flights being at least 6am or later but now it's more like around 5-5:30am.

At least most of the plane is too tired to be rowdy

has anyone caught the apple tv series 'the reluctant traveler' starring eugene levy? it will make you SALIVATE seeing the places he's visiting!
It's on my list. Did you ever watch Better Late Than Never with Henry Winkler, William Shatner, George Forman, Terry Bradshaw, and Jeff Dyes? My husband and I enjoyed their antics as well as seeing the places they traveled.

I would have paid a decent amount of money to see that outside my hotel room. 🤣

Also, this thread has gone up 4 pages since I started reading it a few hours ago. Lol

Well, the nice thing about having an early flight is the opportunities for later flights with any snafus. We tend to take late flights bc of my husband’s work schedule and that makes me so nervous.

How long is your layover and what is the total travel time?

I have cleaned all afternoon. Do a load of laundry...get caught up on the thread...straighten up the living room...get caught up on the thread...

I'm actually a productive person. I just take a lot of breaks. 😄
Haha, I'm sitting in Islands of Adventure waiting for it to be 4 pm so I can use my after 4 pm Express pass and I'm still on this thread xD

We take the late flights back home but aren't as stressed about that part. My husband for work is almost always taking the late flights so I got used to it whenever we traveled for leisure and we normally try to maximize our time on vacation so first flight out late flight back home.

Our flight home from Cancun leaves at 5pm (last flight out) and lands at 11:35pm but that's actually early. Most of the time we're landing back home anywhere between midnight to 2am. However due to traffic and construction to get to the Cancun airport we'll be probably leaving shortly after lunch time so there was no way we wanted an early flight on departure day.

To Cancun we stop in Houston for 1hr 15 minutes of a connection time. The total flight time is 5hrs 40 mins and land around 11am. Flight home same stop in Houston but for 2 hours 15 mins of a connection time. Total flight time is 6hrs 35 mins. We're in the same time zone as Cancun so luckily we don't lose any time.
