I love my kindle I don’t miss real books at all. I have the waterproof paper white. I have kindle unlimited, I never realized they updated the limit to 20 as I usually only have a few downloads queued at a time. I love that I can read at night while my husband is sleeping without a bright glaring screen.Anyone else have Kindle Unlimited? Nothing compares to an actual book but I really do love my Kindle Voyage for traveling. I'm making sure that I have the books I'd like have the option to choose from for next week and I have no idea how I made it work back when the limit was 10 KU books borrowed at once. I'm having issues with the 20 limit it presently isas in I want more books
I also have thousands of "bought" books by that I mean I did buy them but they were either freebies for newsletters or when they were $0.00 but still I need more options!!!
My wife does and she has the "Oasis" version device - I think? She uses it constantly at home or on vacation.Anyone else have Kindle Unlimited? Oh goodness, wishing you a speedy recovery. Hopefully having the trip booked and paid for is something to look forward to.Welp I'm at the surgeon's office. Unexpectedly having a major surgery with a week in the hospital next month. With likely a second one sometime after. No fireworks or VIP for us.
Glad our trip is mostly paid for. :*(
We have a few hundred "real" books. Just in case the world ends, we still have something to read. But we do get books from library too. But I love audible books. I can listen doing dishes, mopping the floor ( truthfully, thinking of mopping the floor), I can't just sit and listen though. If I'm sitting, I'd rather read a book.I have been toying with the idea of buying a Kindle for .... literally years?? I love my library and check out books from them all the time, and I know you can get ebooks on Kindle and it'd be so much more convenient for travel, but I don't looooove the whole Amazon ecosystem. But the only other viable competitor is Kobo and that seems less ... prevalent? Potentially more complicated? IDK.
Anyway, sell me on Kindle, I guess?
Exactly! I'm often doing that. Plus on plane rides I don't have to use the overhead light and then on car rides I can read in the dark. I used to take several books with me on vacation but I would worry about damage and they were heavy. Now I've got this small device.I love my kindle I don’t miss real books at all. If your major concern is the amazon ecosystem or just the company itself which is certainly legit - the kindles make it a light touch entry into that platform - books were the start for amazon - so the library of options is pretty significant and the devices are pretty bullet proof.I have been toying with the idea of buying a Kindle for .... literally years?? So I caved in 2015. At that time the top of the line was the Voyage and I paid the extra $20 to not have ads on the screen when you turn it on although I did not pay to have access to cellular signal so I can only download via wifi or connecting it to a computer. It was my single biggest splurge at that time for me as I normally don't spend that much money on myself.I have been toying with the idea of buying a Kindle for .... literally years?? According to my account I have a little over 1,700 books on my Kindle. Instead of having to bring like 5 or 6 books so that I could continue to read when I finished one or like you said you bring one and it's not good now I've got this device that holds so much and if I want to bounce around from book to book I can very easily do that. With a kindle you can download 6 books for the weight of a newpapers. Back in the day, I was always afraid, you bring this book and then you might hate it. Of course. just in case you bought an back up and a back , back up. So half your carryon is books.
The invention of the Kindle, and other e-readers, has saved me so much space both in my house and also when I travel. Life is so much easier these days in a lot of ways.According to my account I have a little over 1,700 books on my Kindle. I watched the first episode. They lost me after that as a viewer. But there was a HUGE push by CBS with the affiliates to promote the show, so in the morning newscast I Produced we would run who got voted off the next morning. Did that for FIVE YEARS. We also ran David Letterman's Top 10 list the next day within the newscast because CBS was desperately trying to get Letterman to beat Leno in the ratings.Yeah it is surprising that it is on but I actually still really like it even with the flaws. Call it a show I have literally grown up with it being around lol
Some seasons are better than others but I've enjoyed it overall. I took a long hiatus and caught up through Amazon Prime and Hulu but have been caught up for a few years now.I watched the first episode. They lost me after that as a viewer. hahaha one time we ate there a wee bit early (before 5pm) and I think we were the youngest there by far. I still love the place but it does have a vibe. Except for breakfast on the weekends though which Easter would be. There you'll find people of all agesMy husband wants to eat at Cracker Barrel, which makes me feel like a senior citizen.
DOOOOO IT!!Now I’m wanting to plan a DLR trip too.
We love WL!! Looking at staying at either BRV or CCV next trip!Doing a split stay in September. The first part at CCV I’m really set on, but the 2nd half I continue to flip flop on where to stay.
^^Ditto!!! hahaYup! Yup!
As if we'd say, "Don't do it!" We will always throw caution to the wind and make it happen!
We haven't done one but WOULD LOVE TO!!! DH has been talking about it since last trip. Maybe....some time in the future we shall plan one within this group?! The most awesome Closed Thread VIP tour!! LOL!@john7994 (or anyone) Have you done a VIP tour? It's on my bucket list so may try to get one for our fall trip. We are definitely going to try for a private fireworks cruise at EPCOT.
We shall chat about CC points!! I have CSR and Amex Plat. I have been contemplating...back and forth about opening the Delta ReserveThis makes me realize: I loooove credit card points and travel hacking. I'm not a churner and definitely more of a hobbyist than some folks, but I've definitely shifted into spending more on travel because I'll earn more points. It's basically an investment in a future trip / my ability to fly to and from Japan in first class.I mean, travel is always a good idea, so you could argue this is actually a positive, quality of life increasing mindset.
