There aren't any in my area :( completely different restaurant but I saw a Raising Canes opened 20 minutes from my house....might try it
We are so saturated with Canes. I’m sick of them. They used to be good but now I find they are overcooked, dry, stringy pieces of something. And their little sauce cups have shrunk!

Here we go again! Yes, we have to pay for extras!

:crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: the most vile fries on the planet. a far superior option is 5 guys both burger and fries wise, sonic would suffice as well.

used to LOVE them but they eliminated so many items. tried a 'buttery jack' a few years back and gagged-eliminating the monster taco was the nail in the coffin.
They took our Sonic away ... and made it a used car dealership ... was very sad ...

Nooooooooooo

Hardee's was the bomb back in the day. It's been ruined.

White Castle tastes like barf with those onions and mystery meat. Krystal is way better.
Haha - there was a thread a while back debating White Castle or Krystal's

Thank you for clarifying the Chicago dog vs Italian beef discourse while I finished work and watched this week's episode of The Mandalorian (which was delightfully high camp and a great time all around!! Not at all surprised to see it was the Bryce Dallas Howard-directed episode this season).

Yet Another Grand Exit. The offended/ angry poster makes a big show of “leaving” the thread, but often keeps coming back to interject one more thing. 😂. I learned about a YAGE right here on the Dis a loooong time ago. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen one.

AHH thank you that's a great acronym.

Another Chicago area native who is THRILLED that Portillo’s has expanded. When I first moved here, I used to joke with my family that I went back to visit 70% because I missed them and 30% because I missed the food near Chicago.

I love ice cream, gelato of course, Dole Whips all day, but a lot of milk shakes are not for me.

It really is such a great food city. Like truly spoiled for restaurant quality ... you can't walk a block without hitting a Michelin-recommended restaurant or a James Beard nominee it seems like, not to mention all the amazing local hole in the wall place.

The thread about being moved from BWI to BC had multiple YAGE. He finally really did move on. I think he was just worn out lol.

I was most definitely lurking on that thread, it was a good one for that popcorn::

Love it rhymes with rage.

I'm not sure but didn't he just join to post about his reservation?

Oh my .... I think I'm going to need some heavy duty armor. When I used to be on other social media I followed lots of Orlando locals and they were all about the new Portrillos. So one trip I was staying right down the street and we were avoiding dinner in parks so we went. I don't think I'll ever go back.

I've never been to fast food with so many employees that took SO long to get our food, the most basic of foods. Everyone working was angry and screaming at each other. The place was built so that it was so loud you couldn't hear yourself think. It was dirty. Everything was sold separate and by time we had 2 drinks, 2 fries and 2 burgers we could have eaten at much nicer place. The food was mediocre and not hot. I didn't want to return it because I didn't want to wait another 20 minutes. Perhaps FL doesn't know how to do it but the cost was way too much for what we got. I mean I'm a NJ Boardwalk / NYC gal so I am fine with "street" food but there was nothing about it to make me want to return. :tilt:

Oh no! I've always had decent experiences at the Orlando location. The Chicago ones are superior but the specialities like the hot dog and beef sandwich have been pretty good. It does take longer than, say, McDonald's but I consider it a step above that sort of fast food.

Ate at the Schaumburg, Illinois Portillo's every week

This brings back memories. :goodvibes

We've been getting lots of Shake Shacks, I think Whattaburger and there is an application to build a Tim Horton too close to my house. I hope it's terrible.

Just so you know....they have started slicing dill pickles LIKE a hot dog bun and putting the hot dog in it with spicy mustard. Not even kidding. Our ballpark and fairs have them.

I'm in the so called south and fried pickles freaking everywhere.
A bar/restaurant in St Augustine had this pickle wrapped in cheese and deep fried ... I wish I had a picture of it. Might have been in a bun too. I wasn't sure but it was delicious.

Raising Canes made it to Georgia. Farther out but slowly will get closer to Atlanta.

I just read that the East Coast will never get an In-n-out because they logistically can't get their fresh meat beyond 300 miles of where it comes from.
They announced they are building in Tennessee so I imagine they'll just need an East Coast meat factory.

WELL .............. I NEVER buy hot dogs at restaurants. I just can't pay what they want when I can buy a a couple packages of 10 for the same price. SO I guess no worries.

My one time at In and Out totally did not get the love for it. I LOVE french fries and they were meh.
There was this one place locally where that's what they specialized in and had quite a lot of options. But it is how I found out that peanut butter and bacon on a hot dog is actually very good even if initially :crazy2: to think about.

No it’s super popular. Ours will have a line 50 cars deep at the drive through but you get through it in 20 minutes. It’s very efficient like Chick- fila. Food is subjective, but I find the quality is always consistent. Some chain places are hit or miss and some are always on point.
I think Five guys is better, but In and Out is a very good value.
Been to Five Guys once. Food was fine, but at $12.71 for a hamburger, they, like Carls Jr, are way out of line price wise.
The mom and pot Gourmet burger place charges $11.29 for a burger that is better.
That's the key to In and Out's success. Top quality ingredients, freshly made, reasonable price, quick service.

I miss Chicago deeply .... wife will never move back though.

I just read the article about TN. I used to live in Franklin where they are putting the east HQ. I think the article was just old that I read.

Did you know that Hardee's was the original fast food Sausage & Biscuit?

When we traveled (on topic) we searched them out because owners decided not to put in the Atlanta market at first.

Five guys is pricey. In more included to pay their prices lately for better quality as a Big Mac value meal is pushing $12 now. A little bacon cheeseburger at 5G is about $8 and we always share the fry. We are in the Midwest.

I didn’t.

Are you old enough to have eaten at a Sisters Chicken and Biscuits?
