We arrive in just over a month so we’re trying to get our reservations together.

I have a reservation for 2 at BOG for dinner and now my aunt wants to come with her family. I’ve been searching for a 5 reservation with no luck.

I think I already know the answer to my question but if I call Disney, can they change the reservation from 2 to 5 for me? If not, it’s not a big deal because we might get rid of BOG for something else.

Thanks in advance :)

You cancel and ask. They will be able to do it if there is a reservation available for 5.

Last summer, a nephew was added to our reservation after everything was booked. I called Dining reservations to modify all my reservations at once. The CM had to find available slots for our new group before cancelling the old ones. She did not just modify the existing reservations. She booked new ones based on availability, except for the ones that were prepaid, like the luau. So my guess would be that, unless there is availability, you’ll have to cancel.

I’d just keep trying. In my experience, if you keep checking for availability something eventually opens up. We leave this weekend, and I didn’t start booking ADR until about 2 to 3 months out. It’s taken some patience, but I’ve been able to find everything I wanted including an 8:00 am before park BOG and CRT.

Calling won’t really do you any good. The CMs see what you see, so if a reservation for 5 isn’t showing on the website, it won’t show for them either. Best thing to do is just check a few times each day. I keep the page pulled up at work on a different tab, and then throughout the day, I just periodically refresh it.

You can also sign up for the TP reservation finder alerts. They will send a text to your phone letting you know the reservation you want is now available. However, I’ve had better luck checking myself. Usually, by the time I can get to the computer to book the reservation they alerted me to, it’s already gone.

Also, don’t get too discouraged if it gets near your trip and you still don’t have the reservation. So many people wait until the last minute to cancel extra reservations. You can have some of the best luck just a day or so before going. Once people know the hours are set and have finalized their plans, they have to cancel those extra ADR or risk paying the no show fee.

Check availability while you’re there. I was able to grab BOG one day in advance due to the 24 cancellation policy. I was actually on a disney park bus hoping I wouldn’t lose my connection while the reservation was processing!

You can try a reservation finder like *********** or touring plans. I think touring plans cost money though. *********** helped us a lot.

The Touring Plans dining reservation finder is free. The only thing to note is if it alerts you of a reservation but you miss it, you have to go back on their website and restart the search again. Once it finds a reservation it won't search for more automatically. Not a big deal, but something to be aware of! I've had positive experiences with it, but I've also been alerted and missed it!

And for a really popular one like BOG, you can jump the second you get the notification and STILL miss it.

Also, there is no set time that the alerts can come in - I've had them come in at 2am before. (And obviously missed them by the time I woke up.)

Best options:
Call the Disney Dining or the restaurant directly and try and change the ADR. Can be difficult.
Sign up for reservation finder on touring plans.
Call the restaurant the day of, or stop and ask the day of. Sometimes thing do open up.
Good luck!

I would have a backup plan. BOG is a difficult restaurant to add guests onto ADR's and you really cannot count on being able to add them at check in. If you wait until the day of your ADR to cancel because there is no availability for your aunts family, you risk the no show fee.

2 to 5 is a pretty big jump at one of the toughest to get restaurants on property. I would put all of your effort into watching for cancellations and not count on them being added.

Make sure the additional people know you might be dining without them.
