Hi All
We will be staying at a moderate resort in the next year. Which is the best option for either a suite OR adjoining rooms? We are two adults and two DD- ages 8 and 10. Everyone wants thier own space... othersies it's not a vacation! Thanks to one and all for help and advice!

Amy :earsboy:

Adjoining means rooms near each other , Connecting is room that connect with a door.

Thanks- we'll look for connecting- are there connecting rooms at moderate resorts?

Yes, there are connecting rooms at moderates. We stayed at POFQ this past Dec 19 and 20 and got a connecting room where both rooms had double beds. However, they tell you that it's never guaranteed you'll get connecting rooms even if requested. We truly enjoyed this arrangement as it made our room feel so much larger - my husband and I had one room and my 26 and 11 year old sons shared the other.

The beds at a moderate though are double size vs. Queen (in rooms where there are 2 beds as they do have Kings in some rooms). Beware, there is no way my husband and I could have shared a bed this size as it felt to be not much larger than a twin.

AGH! :confused3 no Guarantee of connecting rooms- what's a mom to do? Across the hall? Yikes! That's too far for us in a strange place. Are there suites in moderate resorts? What's the next most reasonable level?

I have read several times that if you have children staying in the other room and tell CSR about it, they put in that connecting rooms are required due to underage children in second room.

All the moderates will guarantee connecting rooms if there are young children in the one room.

There are suites at Coronado Springs but they cost more than two hotel rooms. Fifty percent of the rooms at Coronado are connecting. Just make a request with CRO when you book. Tell them you have children who are minors with you.

We stayed at CSR this past Nov. There was 5 of us in our party. DH, DS 13, DD16, DN13 & myself. We requested 2 connecting rooms when we made our resv. and told them that our DD & DN would be sharing a room. Since they were underage our requests were guaranteed.

We stayed at POFQ got king room connecting to a double room, worked out great for us. 3 kids in the connecting room. The extra bathroom worked very well in the AM also. We were bldg 4 on the first floor. a great spot.

If you have 2 adults they will not guarantee connecting rooms. Even with minor children, it is still only a request.

When I made my request for connecting rooms at POR the CM told me that it would be guaranteed for families. On my confirmation it is written guaranteed connecting room. I don't think you'll have a problem getting a guaranteed connecting room since it involves 2 minors.
