Does All Star Music have rooms adjoining, connected with a door? Touring Plans seems to indicated "no" when I am searching with their tool for ideal rooms.

First, adjoining, in Disney, means near each other. You are actually asking for connected.

ASM has connecting rooms, but they can be hard to get.

Yes, if you want that connecting door in between rooms, do not use the word adjoining in your request.

All Disney resorts have connecting pairs of rooms. As the PP said, though, the number of connecting rooms varies by resort.

Keep in mind that connecting rooms are never guaranteed. We just returned from Beach Club and although I had requested connecting rooms months in advance and I called to confirm this before leaving they were unable to accommodate us until our 3rd night. The initial 2nd room we were assigned was on the same floor but quite far away. My children are 3 and 6 so we had to share one room for the first 2 nights.

THANK YOU for letting me know that! I would have requested the wrong thing.

Was your party just you and your 2 kids?

The two rooms that I made reservations for were for myself, my husband, and my two children. We were with extended family on the trip but they had their own rooms and separate reservations, and were on another floor. I'm not sure if that's what you're asking, so I hope I'm accurately answering your question.

There have been documented on here cases where even in that case connecting rooms cannot be honored. If all the connecting rooms are occupied over any portion of your visit, there simply isn't availability. They can't create a door where there isn't one. Obviously parents/children should have priority over non-parents/children - but a single parent with kids would have priority over a two-parent family as the two-parent family could put one adult in each room. And even a single-parent situation does not guarantee connecting rooms - and that's documented on here as well.

Obviously we fit in 1 room so we made the most of it, and I've always known there is no guarantee. Although it was inconvenient we did just fine with 1 room for the first 2 nights. Then when the room next door opened up we were able to spread out.

Right, that's why I was asking about the size of the party. I was wondering if they give priority of connecting rooms to people who "need" it over people who "want" it. At BC, I'd put the parents in one bed, the older child in the other bed, and the younger child in the day bed. There should be plenty of room for everyone in that scenario.

They *should* prioritize families that cannot fit in one room (even as all adults if my family travels together it's rare that my sister and I have our own room - we still get one room for 4 of us...I think I can count on one hand with three fingers left over the times we've had two rooms in my life!) when connecting rooms are requested. I know that's what the hotel I used to work at did. But that being said, with people having stays of differing lengths and the rooms not being assigned until MAYBE 5 days before arrival dates, it's next to impossible for them to know when assigning someone staying for 7+ days that there is going to be a connecting room request coming in on the last day of that party's stay.

But yes - if a party feels that they as 4 cannot stay in one standard room but they NEED to be connected, they need to look into suites

There was no day bed.

Oh, really?? I thought the sofa converted to a day bed in all of the rooms at the Beach Club! I'll never need it as a family of 3, but will keep that in mind to let others know who may be looking into this resort. I get asked for Disney advice frequently. :)

We didn't have a sofa either. I've stayed at BC quite a few times and have always had a sofa/daybed in the past. This time we only had two queen beds, a dresser, and a desk with one desk chair.

Did you get a refund for the other room for 2 nights?

We weren't charged for a second room on the first two nights. It was a room only reservation which requires a one night deposit. The deposit was just applied once we actually did have the second room. In other words, we did not pay for any room we did not use. I might also add, the Beach Club staff was very nice about the situation. They accommodated as soon as they could. As someone mentioned earlier- they can't create a door where one doesn't exist. While we were there, there was a flyer in the room with an offer to add an additional night to any trip for a discounted cost. I do wonder if guests taking advantage of that offer made room assigning for arriving guests with requests more difficult than usual.
