Yes, if you want that connecting door in between rooms, do not use the word adjoining in your request.
All Disney resorts have connecting pairs of rooms. As the PP said, though, the number of connecting rooms varies by resort.
Keep in mind that connecting rooms are never guaranteed.
Keep in mind that connecting rooms are never guaranteed. We just returned from Beach Club and although I had requested connecting rooms months in advance and I called to confirm this before leaving they were unable to accommodate us until our 3rd night. The initial 2nd room we were assigned was on the same floor but quite far away. My children are 3 and 6 so we had to share one room for the first 2 nights.
The two rooms that I made reservations for were for myself, my husband, and my two children. We were with extended family on the trip but they had their own rooms and separate reservations, and were on another floor. I'm not sure if that's what you're asking, so I hope I'm accurately answering your question. Was your party just you and your 2 kids?

There have been documented on here cases where even in that case connecting rooms cannot be honored. If all the connecting rooms are occupied over any portion of your visit, there simply isn't availability. They can't create a door where there isn't one. Obviously parents/children should have priority over non-parents/children - but a single parent with kids would have priority over a two-parent family as the two-parent family could put one adult in each room. And even a single-parent situation does not guarantee connecting rooms - and that's documented on here as well.
Right, that's why I was asking about the size of the party. I was wondering if they give priority of connecting rooms to people who "need" it over people who "want" it. At BC, I'd put the parents in one bed, the older child in the other bed, and the younger child in the day bed. There should be plenty of room for everyone in that scenario.
But yes - if a party feels that they as 4 cannot stay in one standard room but they NEED to be connected, they need to look into suites
There was no day bed.

We didn't have a sofa either. I've stayed at BC quite a few times and have always had a sofa/daybed in the past. This time we only had two queen beds, a dresser, and a desk with one desk chair.Oh, really?? I thought the sofa converted to a day bed in all of the rooms at the Beach Club! I'll never need it as a family of 3, but will keep that in mind to let others know who may be looking into this resort. I get asked for Disney advice frequently.![]()

We weren't charged for a second room on the first two nights. It was a room only reservation which requires a one night deposit. The deposit was just applied once we actually did have the second room. In other words, we did not pay for any room we did not use. I might also add, the Beach Club staff was very nice about the situation. They accommodated as soon as they could. As someone mentioned earlier- they can't create a door where one doesn't exist. While we were there, there was a flyer in the room with an offer to add an additional night to any trip for a discounted cost. I do wonder if guests taking advantage of that offer made room assigning for arriving guests with requests more difficult than usual.Did you get a refund for the other room for 2 nights?
