Hi everyone. I am thinking of having my reception at ADH. I love it, but there are two problems. First, I think I will only have 50 guests. Has anyone had their reception there with this number? I am afraid the venue might be too big for only 50 people. Second, it says you have to use Disney for all floral, decor, and entertainment. Does this include favors and centerpieces even if they don't include floral? I would much rather bring my own and save the money.

1st I have seen lots of brides on here with 50 people ADH weddings and they are great fun :) So no worries there, I am having a 120 person ADH wedding in Feb and we did have to go thru DFTW for floral and entertainment, but honestly it was so much easier then worrying about those things making it to ADH on your wedding day. We are bringing our own favors and menu cards, I believe DFTW will set 3 things per guest for you (place card, favor and menu).

In terms of cost of centerpieces you really can keep them down with Disney Florals help, our flroist Laura Kidd did amazing work and offered great advice to keep the cost down for us.

HTH and best of luck!

We had 50 people at the ADH last November for our reception. We had a 9:00 ceremony in Epcot. Our pre-reception was from 10:00 to 11:00 and our reception was from 11:00 to 3:00. 50 was a great number - not too small - not too big - just right.

Here are some photos.

In front of ADH. We had them add our names to the marquee. It was an extra $200.00 but so worth it. I think everyone at the wedding took a picture of it. Misty was our photographer.

We did the Tinkerbelle Brunch. Here are two of our chefs at the make your own omlet/crepe station.

We stayed at The Boardwalk. This was a perfect spot. After the reception we just had to walk back to our room - the bus took everyone back to their resorts.

One of our tables. The centerpieces were from Disney floral (I think they were around $35 to $45 dollars. The red napkins were an extra $2.00 each but I think they looked great on the table. I did our menu cards and Disney inserted them into the napkins. I also made M&M and put them in those heart tins on the table and Disney put them on the table. The frames were mine and I just made the table numbers and Disney put them on the table also. Like Sam said there was a small charge for this.

Checking our our cake table. You can see the upstairs level. This is where our pre-reception was. It looked out over the dance floor.

Everyone on the dance floor with Mickey and Minnie. I specifically asked Misty for this photo. I think she took it from upstairs on the balcony.

How the dance floor was set up. There were 5 large tabels for 10 each and then our sweetheart table.

Mirror in the ADH. I ordered the cinderella carriage from Disney floral and the two statues of Cinderella and Prince Charming and the Fairy Godmother i got as gifts for my shower and brought them down.

This is a chair in the lobby of The Boardwalk. Alot of brides get their photos on this chair. Unfortunately, the floor under the chair was being worked on during our wedding so we did not get this shot. This is a picture of me and Sam (tiggersam00) - Hi Sam - from when were down there this past March and had a disbride meet.

Thanks Sam! I guess I wouldn't mind using Disney for floral and entertainment if I could bring my own favors, etc. ADH seems like it doesn't need much decoration, so I'm sure I could get cheep centerpieces and that could be it for decoration. BTW I have been reading your PJ forever! I just became a member but have been looking on here for a while and for some reason I just loved reading your PJ. Maybe because I am thinking of the same ceremony and reception locations as you. I love all your plans especially the tailgate party. My DF would be totally into that! Anyway thanks for the help! I would love to see pic's after your wedding!

Linda

Wow! Your pictures are awesome! Thank you for sharing them!

I had a feeling Linda - Hi Linda! - would stop by this post! Her pics are awesome, and they really show how you can set up ADH, we are doing 4 tables of 10 on the dance floor plus a sweetheart table and then using the existing cocktail tables that are at ADH. I like that the pre-reception can be held upstairs and reception downstairs, it's a great little perk to ADH as well!

If you can hold out 6 more weeks I'll have a few pics to show you too :)

I absolutly love your set up at ADH. I too am getting married there this coming November. I wanted to ask you more about your centerpieces. What was the description you gave to the florist and how much were they a piece if you don't mind me asking? Also, did the balloons come from the florist as well? Thanks for your help!!

Hi, we just returned from Florida and Sam and Dave's wedding. Their wedding was just wonderful. We had a great time. It was so much fun attending a wedding at the same place our reception was and enjoying it as guests.

Anyway, to your question, I brought down photos of the centerpieces and balloon bouquests to show our planner and florist. I had seen photos of them from another Disbride - so I knew Disney could do this. I want to say the centerpeices were either $35 or $55 and the balloon bouquets were $35. Yes, we did get the balloons from Disney floral. The chair covers were $8.50 each and the red napkins were either $1.00 or $2.00 each.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Linda

Thanks for sharing that info. Linda... I was really starting to worry about costs for decor. That is actually pretty reasonable. Was the $8.50 each for chair covers for the covers and the bows?

We used chair covers with bows on the dance floor only but the rest were as is. Also, we used rose petals and votive candles on all the tabels to "fill out" the space which is an inexpensive way to do it. I will start a TR once I get wedding pics back and will be sure to show you :)
