Had no interest in adding on - have 270 points (Feb use year) and have not used them the last year due to spending all our free time doing college road trips (are these schools nuts? - 50-60K tuition!!) - and thus have a backlog of points.

Then glanced at the Timshare Store listing and my eyes fell out of my head - a 30 point contract Feb use year at BCV! I said no it cannot be true :confused3 and refreshed the page - it was still there - I refreshed the page again and it started to laugh at me:laughing:, beacon me, seduce me:hippie:. My hands started shaking. I started to sweat! My knees went weak. I called TSS and said is this really true? - they said yes and it was still available -

My mind went blank - I don't need it I said - no, I do need it, the purchase will help the economy, how can I not help the USA? My country needs me! Buy Buy Buy!!! (in the words of Jim Cramer) and I have money to spend. Don't waste it on college tuition! Buy DVC! Help America!:cheer2:

I told the Rep to make an offer! Next morning we agreed on a price! My hands were shaking, I collapsed! This is like getting married again! Oh the exhaustion - Oh the excitment - Oh Crap! I forgot to tell my wife :scared1:(Oh well - a Fathers day gift to myself!):woohoo:

Congrats! :cool1: I often ask myself what I would do if I found myself in your exact situation!! I hope I would do the same thing and not chicken out! Done some of the same college road trips this year and understand your fiscal shock! Thanks for keeping the good ole US ecomony moving ;) Enjoy new points :goodvibes

Yeah . . . the title of the thread pretty much sums it up! Congrats and enjoy those extra points!!:cool1:

This is not good. Now you have me going to the DVC resale listings "just to see" what is out there....

Sorry - It was pure luck. I looked last year daily for about 6 months and saw nothing in that small size and the one or two in the 50 point size were gone by the time I made the call.

The Rep told me they only get about 2-3 in this size a year. Cannot believe it was not already gone as most small contracts are, but this one had no points this year which may have impacted the selling. Since we are moving about 90 points from 2012 to 2013 anyway, it did not matter and we are paying no maintenance fees. Now we will have 390 points next year and maybe I'll start renting as DW never is able to get off from work for more than a week at a time.

Maybe you'll use the rental fees to defray the astronomical college costs. :rolleyes1

Congrats!

Congrats!

Let's see 390 points at $10 per point, it will only take 61 years of renting to cover the college costs. Maybe I should just offer the points free to what ever college president he goes with and hope for leniency.

Very cute subject line! I hope your wife understands and is thrilled !

Somewhat related post over on TUG today >> LINK .

Some experts are saying that college is over rated so you may have made a good choice! :goodvibes

my co-workers are looking at me and wondering what is so funny! :rotfl2:

I had to cut/paste this and send to my hubby.

I did the same thing end of last year but our contract was loaded. Now, we are somehow, magically, going to Hawaii in 38 days!

You have to strike when you find something because you never know when you WILL find something

Good Job, Patriot!

Hey, if I was your wife I WOULD be thrilled!!

Congratulations and thanks for the laugh!!

Well she was resistant when I put the contract under her nose but I then said its a done deal, just sign, and remember that two days ago I bought you a car!

She looked at me with THAT look and signed. Timing is everything.
