I'm trying to generally plan out my days at magic kingdom without planning too much, if that makes sense! I am doing 2 days in MK. If I were to get additional fast passes later in the afternoon does anyone have experience which ones are normally available? Are they limited to find the day in the park?

Someone had asked a similar question a few weeks back, and I pulled this info on a random, mid-level crowds day. These were the FP still available at 3:30 that day:

Rides with plenty of FP+ times still available: Barnstormer, Buzz, Dumbo, HM, Small World, JC, Tea Party, Aladdin, Pooh, Tinkerbell, Monsters Inc, POTC, Splash Mtn, Tomorrowland Speedway

Slim pickins: BTMRR, ETwB, Meet Ariel, SM,

None:FoFParade, MSEP, A&E, PP, 7DMT, Wishes...

If you really wanted to start planning it out, log onto the MDE website at random times throughout each day and see what is still available for later on that day. Might give you an idea of what will and won't be around...

Just back, and yes, the pickings were 'very' slim during the day for the popular rides, and those two weeks while we were there (before spring breaks) was considered a relatively 'slow' time. Now, what I'm talking about are the 'headliners' which is what we were wanting, like 7DMT, TSM, Soarin', Peter Pan, etc. Wasn't interested in the Small World type rides.

Good luck!

We were there 2/28 - 3/7 and we had no issues getting extra FP's in any of the parks. The ONLY issue we had was getting one for Tower of Terror much later in the day after our Rockin Rollercoaster ride. I was able to snag 2 of them but not all 5. Otherwise, we got all we wanted.

When we were there in January (a "slower" time...crowds were 3s, 4s and 5s), we didn't have an issue getting 4th and 5th FPs in MK but only MK. The other parks were much harder to get decent FPs after your allotted three. This is likely due to the higher amount of attractions in MK. Almost everything was available except for SDMT, Wishes and Anna & Elsa.

So I'm wondering what the break even point is for waiting in line for a FP kiosk vs waiting in line for a ride?

Like, do you only go to a kiosk if they're empty? How long of a line is worth waiting in?

I'll be there on middle to high level crowd days.

Here are a couple screens shots of our choices last week.

We were there crowd level 8-9 with 16 people, we pick space mountain as our 4th FP.

Do the kiosks allow you to choose by time or just by attraction? That will take awhile if I keep selecting things that are only available during ADRs and other pre planned events.

It's others have said, it all depends on the crowds, and the park. In February (Presidents Week), we had some success at MK (Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, and PotC were all available some days), and not really any success others. I will say, on a crowd level 7 day, I was able to snag a 4th FP for Expedition Everest at AK, pretty late in the day. Was very surprised at that.

Thank you everyone! Gives me a better idea what to expect. I'm so afraid of having to wait in lines with my two little ones, the thought scares me so I am thinking if one of the adults in our group can get an extra fast pass or two we may be able to avoid some lines & see a few more attractions without much wait time. I already have one for Peter Pan, 7DMT, and I got Buzz for the last one but thinking of changing that. These are for my first MK park day. Wanted A&E of course but couldn't even get that one right at midnight! I am going the 2nd week of May so thinking the crowds may not be too bad.
