Adding ticket to DVC rental?

Has anyone done this? I am hoping to buy our park tickets now so I can do fastpass+. I am able to log in to My Disney Experience but can't edit my resort ressie. This is my first time to use fastpass+, so u appreciate any advice!!

Purchase your tickets as Will Call and link the Confirmation number to your MDE account. Your MagicBands will provide the link to your ticket and FP data when you are at the entrance and FP tapstiles.

You don't link a ticket to a resort reservation, you simply link it to your My Disney Experience account. Your Magic Bands will read whatever is linked to your MDEx account.

Just log in, go to My Reservations and click the link to add a ticket/passport. The system will have you assign it to a specific person. Until the ticket/passport is used the first time it can be reassigned.

We rented DVC points and purchased tickets from Undercover Tourist. As soon as I received my tickets in the mail from UT and had my DVC reservation booked, I then linked my DVC reservation number and ticket numbers to MDE. I have not even been on my trip yet, but I have been able to book ADR, Fastpasses, and everything else without a problem.

when you received the tickets from UT, where they the cards? I am trying to understand how to get the magic bands if I purchase tickets form someone other than Disney. when I receive them, I just enter them in on MDE and I will then be able to get the magic bands?

They will mail you the magic bands because you have a resort reservation (make sure you change the shipping address to yours), but your tickets are not connected to your resort reservation since you have not booked a package. Therefore the tickets can be connected separately. once you have linked your ticket to MDX the band will be able to read it.

If you purchase tickets from Disney or anyone else, and you do not have a Disney resort reservation, you will not receive magic bands. Only annual passholders are issued magic bands based on a park admission purchase alone. If you have tickets (not AP) but no resort reservation, you have the option of purchasing magic bands and linking them to your MDX.

thank you! i will be renting DVC and purchasing Tickets from someone other than disney. so once I receive the cards, I can link them to MDX and get the bands. Sorry for the confusion.

I know this is a really old thread but I had a follow up question on this. I just rented DVC points and bought my tickets through UT. I have the tickets linked to my reservation # on MDX. Do they mail the magic bands to us or do we pick them up at check-in? If they mail them, how far out do they usually do that?

We're not going until May so I can't do anything yet other than ADR's. Counting down to the 60 day mark to start booking FP+ so I'm just curious about the magic bands now.

You need to go into MDE and click on Magicbands and Cards. Then, confirm your address and customize your bands. They will mail them a little less than 30 days before your trip. This is assuming you mean you have linked your resort reservation to your MDX.
