I have made a room-only reservation using a AAA discount, because at the time I was pretty sure I was not going to want the DDP, and was going to buy the park tickets through a discount site.
Well, dh and I sat down last night, went through all the menus of the restaurants we're planning on eating at, figured out approximately how much we'd spend... and had our 2 dd's sharing a kid's meal for about 1/2 of the resturants. Then added on $10 per day for the 4 of us for snacks through the day.. and added $100 for the cost of breakfast foods we would most likely either bring down, or have delivered for us.
And that amount that we came to was about $50 more than what the cost of the DDP would be for the 4 of us. And on top of that, I had not included drinks in our meals (which would be included on the DDP), and had not included tax either (which would also be included on the DDP)... so based on that, I'm figuring we'd probably be saving about $150-$200 for our trip down there by going with the DDP over paying OOP.
Sooo, my question is, what would be the easiest, and cheapest, way for me to include the DDP onto my room-only reservation?
To get the AAA discount, I went directly through Disney's #, so am still in charge of my own ressie. I really really do not want to have to go through a AAA person to make my ressie, but have a sick feeling that's the only way I'm going to be able to add the DDP to our vacation. Or is there another way of doing this?
Also, I've seen somewhere where Disney has offered discounts for the time period I am going (Nov 28-Dec 6) starting in late October. Is it likely that these same discounts are going to be offered again? If so, I could always make the ressie using rack room rates (not using AAA), and get that discount later.
Thanks for any help!
Michelle
