Adding spouse not the same as resale, correct?

My wife and I were not married when I purchased our DVC membership (direct). She is an associate on the account, but not an owner.

If I add her as an owner, she gets all the same perks I do, correct? She's not treated / considered a 'resale' or something because she wasn't an original owner?

I wouldn't have thought it would be considered a resale, as your not actually making a purchase, your just amending the purchase you made and your name is still going to be on it, so it's not really changing hands either.

On a similar issue -- transferring via gift to children during life or via inheritance, either directly or via a trust -- I was informed by Member Administration that those would not be treated as transfers under which the recipient would lose access to any incidental benefits to which the transferring member had access.

You should be fine but there's no way to guarantee the option going forward.

That is correct, and that was the only thing I was asking about when I talk to member Administration. I would assume the owner's transfer to include spouse would fall under the same exception.
