Adding Photo To Signature, and/or Post??

Could someone kindly give me instructions or, direct me to a link, on how to add a photo to my signature..and ...how to add one to my posts? I scanned photos, and have them in my downloads. I'm so con fu zed ! Any help would be appreciated........Thanks Lisa
