So we HAD 5 adults and 1 child so I booked for 6 people. Now we have 6 adults and 1 child. We have NO problem smooshing in, the child can sit on the end or whatever.

I'm so SCARED to call and try and add a person that I haven't done it yet. Ya think if they tell me no, that we can just show up and smoosh the 5 year old in?

I would just show up with the extra child. I don't think it should be a problem.

It really depends on what restaraunt and what time of year. They likely will not "squeeze" you at a table meant for 6, even the kid gets a chair, unless you are at a booth. If you were changing from 5 to 6 that would be no problem, since its the same table. Going from 6 to 7 will mean you need an "8top" and usually there aren't too many of those. Calling to change (if possible) is really your best bet. Being turned away or asked to wait for an hour or more might really suck.

Exactly - if you don't change it, they probably won't turn you away but they may make you wait a REALLY long time! We had a similar situation with an extra adult, and when I called to ask they were able to accomodate us by switching us to two tables at the same time - there is no guarantee they will be side by side, but generally in the past I've found they are.

Just show up. We showed up at several ADR's this trip with an extra person in the middle of free dining at some of our hardest to get ressie's without any issues. We changed the ones we could, and were advised to just show up to the others...HTH!

You can call and ask, but liekly they will make you have a new reservation even to add just one person. We were going from 7 to 8 and I asked to make sure it wasn't a problem They told me we were set for a table of 8 so no big deal and we did nothing to our reservation. When we checked in we said we were now 8 instead. I'd call to see what they have you marked for. Unfortunately they can never just add and unless during the off season you may not get the time you wanted.

Odd to evens you can just show up for. Even to odds you can't. They may seat you if you "just show up" but they may not be able to. And if they do, understand they are taking that "eight top" from the person who reserved it. You reserved a six top.

And they generally won't squeeze even a child in. Disney tables are generally far too tight for an extra chair.

I tried to get a reservation transferred to me a couple of days ago. The reservation was for 4 people. We are a family of 5(4 and a high chair) and they said they were sorry but they couldn't do that. But your situation could be different. Maybe they are planning to seat you at a bigger table than we were(a table for six perhaps?) Give it a try. You never know!:thumbsup2
