Hi there. I have a question for you fine folks. I have a trip booked with my family(4) and my DBIL and DN. So I have dining ressies for 6 made 180+10 days out like a good little DISer :thumbsup2

Now, BIL is in a new relationship and is moving in with her and her daughter so I am faced with the possiblity of him asking to add them to the trip. It should be no problem for the resort ressie(we have two rooms at POR at the end of Sept with FD) but I am wondering if you all think I will have to cancel all of my ressies for dinners and rebook or if they will be able to turn our 6 top tables to eights?

Thanks for any input.......I am up here in Canada and trying like heck to avoid more long distance charges from calling Disney.....DH seems to think I call there too much :confused3:rotfl2:

Thanks :goodvibes

We had a party of 11 and I just added my brother, so now we have a party of 12. I tried to add him to our existing ADR's and the CM had to look for a new ADR for 12, it really messed up some of our times, and some I can't get at all now. The CM suggested keeping our ADR's for 11 and then booking a separate ADR for 1. I guess that's the equivelent to "pulling up a chair" lol. I'm just going to keep calling every day I guess. Good luck!

Check and see if any times are available for your new party size, but do not cancel the reservations you have until after your re-book. If you cannot change some of your reservations, you can always show up with your extra guests and see if they can seat everyone. There is no guarantee they will be able to, but sometimes they can.

Or if you are not tied to your reservations, just cancel the ones you have and make new ones.

The problem is that there is no "pulling up a chair" at any TS restaurant.

Its been posted that adding one person to a odd number ADR should not be a problem because all tables are even. So if you have 5 you would have been at a 6 person table anyway. Going from even to odd means a bigger table.

To the OP. You are going from 6 to 8 to which is a much bigger deal as they would have to move you to another table.

Just saw you are going during Free Dining which changes everything. You will have to rebook and hope for the best because the chances of adding 2 as a walk up are going to be slim.

I thought I would have to rebook. I sent him an Email today to tell him to let us know soon if they want to come too so I can try to scrounge together some new ADRs. It looks like we may have to do some TS lunches instead of the dinners I have booked.

Thanks guys :goodvibes

Hi! I sorta had this problem myself, I added 1 adult to our party of 6 so now our party is 7.

I called and the CM said they couldn't just add 1 person, that it has to be rebooked. Some of the ADR's I had worked out: Boatwright's, Coral Reef, 1900 Park Fare, T-Rex. Of course I had finally landed a Le Cellier ADR and there was no way I was going to cancel that.

So, I figured we will have tons of family time in the parks, MVMCP and the T-Rex B-Day lunch. Both of my sisters coming with us are Adults so in some cases I made them their own ADR's for nice places. This way we could have some time with just us and the boys and they could take a break away from children.

For example: while we are at Garden Grill with Chip n Dale, they will have a nice quiet dinner at San Angel Inn. While we are at 'Ohana they will be at Kona. My Le Cellier ADR? Please, you 2 go to Chefs de France, you'll love it!

Also, I had a Chef Mickey's ADR I couldn't add to. I looked in the reservation system and made a separate ADR for 2 at the same time we will be there-so that worked out pretty well.

I don't know if this would be an option for your BIL and his family, but if they have a little girl maybe they could do a separate character buffet while the rest of you are somewhere else?

Think outside the box. I was pretty dejected when I got off the phone with the CM, b/c I had made awesome ADR's right at my 190 day mark. But, I started thinking of how I could creatively work around it and I think I found a pretty good solution for us!

Good luck!

I recently went through this turning our party of 16 into a party of 18! The first time I called the agent wasn't able to accomodate for serveral of the ressies. I just kept what I had and thanked her for trying. I called right back and the next agent was able to problem solve and get everything we needed. Sure some of the times changed and one dinner became a lunch but we are still eating in all the same places.

So, if at first you don't succeed....hang up and try again. ;)
