Adding people to an existing reservation-Chef Mickey's

I currently have a reservation for Chef Mickey's for a party of 5. I made this reservation at the 180 day mark to get the time we wanted. I now have 3 family members who live in Florida who would like to join us for this meal. I called and tried to add on, and they wouldn't add to the reservation, but offered me a new reservation after 9pm (my 3 kids would never make it). To add to the issue, this happened last time we visited Chef Mickey's a year ago. I had a resi for party of 6, 2 family members wanted to join. Disney dining told me no, and then when we went to Chef Mickey's we were seated at a table that could accomodate 8, and the two seats sat empty while we could have had our family members join us. This really made my sister in law unhappy. Any suggestions? Is it possible that if we took our extra family members with us they would add our additional family members to our reservation upon arrival? Any suggestions are appreciated. We'd love to have our family join us!

Thanks!

I think they do have space reserved for walk ins. I would try it, they may have to be seated at another table but I'll bet they will try to accomodate you. :goodvibes

Thanks! We don't mind being seated at different tables, just all want to enjoy the experience of Chef Mickeys! I guess the worst they can say if we all show up is no. Thanks again!

1) Mickey's does not have space for walk-ins.
2) They book to capacity.
3) Adding three extra people might be a problem.
4) They would probably try to fit them in at another table.
5) But, be prepared for disappointment, should it happen.

Thanks for the info. We may just have them come along, and see if they have space when we arrive. If not, we'll understand. It seems like it is so hard to get/change reservations unless you do so at the 180 day mark. Again, thanks for the information, we won't get our hopes up!

I think you have a perfect attitude for this! Just bring them along, with the understanding that there might not be room for them. There are many other eating options nearby should Chef Mickey's not be able to accommodate you. I can understand your frustration last time when you could have had your family join you and had to look at the two empty seats throughout your meal last time.

I have to admit, it was a little frustrating last time knowing they could have joined us, but we were at the happiest place on earth, so nothing could keep us down for long! Worst case scenario, our extra family members (all adults) can enjoy a drink at one of the bars at the contemporary while were swinging our napkins at Chef Mickeys! Thanks for replying!

If necessary, they can check out the bar at The Wave. It's supposed to be great...
