We're ready to make some ADR's. However, we're not sure if DMIL is coming with us on this trip or not. Can we add her to the ADR's next month if she decides to join us?

Better would be to try to make ADRs for the total number of diners you may have, then if she doesn't come, just let the Host/Hostess know when you check in at the restaurant. It's easier than trying to add somebody, especially closer to the date or if it results in an odd number of Guests.

Yes, I agree with above poster. Make it for the max and then subtract one if you need to when you get to the restaurant. If you try to add later, you may not get the restaurants you want.

If you are going up one from an odd number of people to an even number of people (5 to 6 for example) there is no problem and no need to change the reservation since tables are designed for an even number of people. A party of five or a party of six would both use a table set for six.

However, if you are going up one from even to odd (4 to 5) you would have to change the reservation as you would be needing a larger size table.

This would be going from 3 to 4 people. My guess is that if we have an ADR for 4, and only 3 show there shouldn't be a problem, either. :dog:

changing from 3 to 4 could pose a problem at some resturants... I wanted to add one more person to our trip for December 05. Nervous about it so I called disney dining. Some of my reservations were changed because some places have tables purposely for 3! I found out Ohana's did this. So I made one PS for 3 people ~ had my sister call and make a PS for 4 under her name. We will cancel one, closer to our travel time. (Many resturants do easily change 3 to 4 without new reservation.)Very Important.. If you have 2 diner PS under one name on the same day, they will cancel them.
Good Luck  Lynn

I'm going solo, but DBF decided to join me a few nights. But depending on his flights I'm not sure what meals we're going to be able to eat together. I have these ADR's for one person - Akershus 1:25 and Tony's Town Square 12:00, both for lunch, and Mama Melrose's 4:00, for the Fantasmic dinner. Will it be a problem if DBF shows up and eats with me. I know his flights are in the morning, but not sure if he'll be at the parks in time.

Quick update...DMIL said she will not be going with us (despite this trip was a gift from me to her!) So now I don't have to worry about the number of people in our ADR!

Thanks to everyone for their ADR tips!
