Can I add park tickets to our magic bands for our stay in SSR in July, staying with DVC and buying tickets with disney uk

Tickets are not actually added to the Magic Band. The band just reads your MDE account unlike the old KTTW cards that just held the data on them everything is now stored in your MDE account and access via band or card.

You need to add your tickets to your MDE account then they can be accessed via the Magic Band.

If you have the actual ticket then you can. You won't be able to if you only have a voucher.

I am slightly confused by this as well. :confused3

My bands have to be customised by 3rd August, but Virgin Holidays estimate my tickets to be dispatched on 20th August.

When I check-in and collect the bands, will they be able to link my park tickets?

Thanks

If your tickets are showing on your MDE account they can be accessed by using the band.

The bands do not hold any data other than their unique identifier.

When you scan you band it then reads the information held on your account - bands can be used interchangeably. I have 2 and can use either one. Both let me access the park using my AP and during my stay they both opened the door and allowed charging as that was what was set on my account.

The only thing showing on my MDE account atm is my reservation.

Until I have the tickets, it won't let me link them to the MDE account, but the tickets are due to arrive after the last date I can customise my bands.

I believe that, if you have bought your tickets from Virgin Holidays, you will not be able to add them to your MDE account prior to your stay, since Virgin don't issue real tickets, only vouchers, and vouchers cannot be linked to MDE (with the exception of AP vouchers). As far as I understand it, this means that you won't be able to pre-book FP+ for your visit but should be able to book them once you arrive and have checked in.

Unless anybody knows any different :confused3

Oh no! This means I will have to relay on the app when I get there, and TBH the app isn't great IMO. :sad2:

Might contact Disney directly nearer the time to clarify.

They should show up nearer check in as you are staying onsite with tickets. If they don't I would call Disney as they will be issued at check in.

Customising your bands has nothing to do with what can be accessed on them.

Just was puzzling me, so I contacted Disney who have said:

"You will be able to utilize FastPass+ once you have retrieved your
tickets and have entered the Theme Park for the first time which
activates your ticket. Once the tickets has been activated you will then
be able to log onto My Disney Experience and set up FastPass+ for the
remaining length of stay."

That's correct, that's basically what I said above. Once you have checked in and received your tickets, they will be linked to your account and will show up on (or can be linked to) MDE. Then you will be able to book FP+ for the rest of your stay.

Have you booked a package with Dining plan? Or just hotel and tickets?
