We are going to be going to Epcot the morning of our first arrival day, but we'll be making a stop at a resort first for breakfast. Can we get a park day added to our existing park hopper passes at the resort or do we have to do that at the actual park?

Either one. Might be easier to do it at the park (guest relations, right by the entrance).

Per the very complete and informative Everything About Tickets sticky, "Any upgrade must be done at WDW at a location with access to the Automated Ticketing System (ATS). Basically this is any park (including water park) ticket window or Guest Services location, or one of the Downtown Disney Guest Services locations. The Lobby Concierge staff at the Resorts do not have all the accesses as the Parks. It cannot be done at a Disney Store."

Good to know. I know the resorts can't do everything that the GR can do, but I thought they could at least do upgrades.

If the ticket price you paid was less than current price, you will want to use the ticket to access a park before adding to it. If you do not do this, you will also have to pay any delta between what yout paid for it vs current price. By accessing the park, the ticket gets assigne current gate price.

My recommendation would be to enter Epcot and then go to Guest Services to add days.

Thanks for this advice...didn't realize that.

We added a day by going to the resort guest services desk, but it took a lot of effort for them to add the days to our magic bands. We've done it before at GS at the parks, and they are much quicker.

That info about limitations of the lobby concierge pertains mainly to why they can't do AP upgrades.

The lobby concierge CAN do regular ticket upgrades.
