We have a AKV contract in both our names. I am taking ds6 down to DL in October for Halloween and am thinking I may do a GCV add-on while there. Do we both have to be there to sign the papers or can I add on points myself?

You can do the add-on while you are at DL but since you are married you will have to bring paperwork back for your spouse to sign and return.

If you are planning for this to be only in your name then due to CA community property laws your spouse will have to sign a document saying that it is ok for you to hold title soley in your name.

If you are planning on holding title as you currently do then your spouse will need to sign the paperwork also.

edit - Just saw you are from Canada so maybe you aren't allowed to mail back paperwork?

Who ever is listed on the membership/contract has to sign or else you will need a new master contract and a separate member number.

Why not have the contract sent to your house?

DVC is not licensed to sell in Alberta. If we want to make a purchase or do an add on we have to travel to a Disney park and sign the papers onsite. Dh will be at an engineering conference in New Orleans in October and may try to swing through DL on his way back home. Thanks for the info!:goodvibes

I wonder if you could overnight the papers to be signed to New Orleans, then he could overnight them back to CA once signed?

Yes, CA laws are different.

I originally bought AKL. Then GCV. Both contracts exclude DH (he doesn't really care for Disney, I know, I know, it's VERY hard to imagine:eek:) and are in my name and DD22. She loves Disney like me.;) Anyway, on the FL contract they never asked anything about DH, but on the CA one he had to sign a form and have it notorized stating that he understands he is not on the contract. It was kind of a pain. But they needed that form before they could continue. That was my experience.

PS - Hi Molly!

Dh will be in New Orleans October 4-7 and we will be in DL October 8-12. The timing is off:3dglasses We are going to try and book his return ticket on 2 legs coming home.:goodvibes

You could get a power of attorney allowing you to sign for your spouse.
