We currently have an OKW contract bought resale in 2015 and are in ROFR for a BLT contract. We are not 100% sure that we will want to keep our OKW contract, but if we decide to sell can I still add-on to BLT direct through Disney?

Out of curiosity, has anyone sold a pre 4/4 contract and bought a post 4/4 one yet?

You can always add-on direct if you want to pay the direct pricing.

Does it have to be at Poly or can it be at BLT?
You can purchase any DVC resort as an add-on. You may have to go on a wait list if they don't have points with the same UY. Also, there are a couple of resorts where they won't add anyone new to the add-on wait list because the list is too long.

Look at the variables closely before you decide. It may be that selling OKW and doing a direct BLT add on will be the best, but if it is, buy BLT first then sell the OKW. It may be keeping the OKW is the best option even if you have to rent occasionally. One should be able to get into BLT at times with OKW points even if you have to use the wait list though likely not all views. I'd do one or the other even if you don't need the extra points so you have options going forward. It really depends on how many points are in play, if the OKW contract is not too big, keeping OKW may be the best option. Or you could hang out for a new resort.

Thanks, good to know. I'm assuming that I'd need to call in if we're at the point where we want to add-on.

I want to keep both because I am fine with staying anywhere, but the kids love the monorail and DH loves BLT wants to stay there every time we go. He also thinks that we would go during the Christmas season and wants the 11-month booking option to do so. The sale of OKW would go to the direct add-on. They're vetoing me, but I'm still fighting.

I think you can make OKW work staying at BLT most trips. You're going to lose some of the options by selling OKW and buying then possibly buying a retail add on to get back to the discounts which you'll lose by selling. Replacing OKW will ultimately cost you a chunk of dollars to get back to where I think you need to be even if you downsize in total points.
